The staff were pleasant. The rooms were good, but I wouldn't call this a 4* hotel (and interestingly it's a 3* on their paperwork!). There was a good variety of TV channels available, and the Wifi was useful. The room was very clean and the tea & coffee was a bonus. We got this hotel last minute and at a cheap rate, so we were happy with the price we paid, but I'd have been disappointed if I'd paid full price.

Room Tip: Make sure you specify non-smoking and double/twin, if that's what you want

We stayed in this hotel which we booked at the last minute and we were very pleased with our choice. Although it is not in the most exciting location, it is within a couple of metro stops from the old town in Lyon. Although the view from the room was not amazing, it was very quiet.

The room was very clean and spacious with all the facilities you can wish for. We had a king size bed with an excellent mattress and we had a great night. The decor of the bathroom was very slightly dated but it was in no way unsightly. The reception staff was very helpful and pleasant, and when we asked to borrow an iron and ironing table, they gave us one within minutes. The fact one can park one's car in their secure car park for 10 euros per 24 hours is definitely a bonus.

I would certainly recommend this hotel - although it has little charm in its decoration, it ticks a lot of boxes and it definitely is great value for money!

Stayed here a single night based upon pricing on Hotels.com - paid some er a single stay, but got a large double room on top floor - excellent! This is Best Western quality as you know it - basic, clean, good comfort and all you could ask for. Samsung flat-screen, aircon that works good beedings, towels and even free coffee and Tea.

Breakfast was quite good with fresh oranges available for your freshly squeezed jiuce, plenty of bread and toppings, good coffee and good, clean service.

The surrounding area is in a calm suburbian area with no noise and lots of parking.
This hotel is very near (walk 2min) away from central subway lines, which will take you to center of Lyon for €1.60 within 5min. 1 or 2 stops to the Old Town. Do this, leave your car.

This hotel is a reasonable 3 star hotel. The rooms are a good size and it has all the normal features you would expect in a hotel this size. There seems to be a steady stream of tour buses which come through here and the breakfast is reasonable. We ended up on level one which was the smoking floor and there was some smoking smell to the room, but reception gave us some deodorisor and offered to change rooms on the next night. The room is clean enough (though don't look under the bed it is quite dusty) but needs some colour [everything is decorated with white sheets, including the arm chairs]! There are roller shutters on the windows which allow the rooms to be blacked out and provide some extra security.

The hotel is in a good position close to the Metro. One stop to the old town and two the new town and shopping area. Very quick and easy. There isn't a great deal in the immediate area to the hotel and seems quite residential in style, but it is easy to get on the Metro and head into town.

Room Tip: Avoid level one - smoking level

All You need for a business trip - not more.
Breakfast (buffet) is quite good for a 3* Hotel.
Metro is in walking distance - fast connection to downtow area

Room Tip: Prevent 6th floor, as noise from ventilation could be to much.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

I spent four nights at this hotel in early May 2012. The hotel is not right at the centre of the city, but it is close (about 3 minutes on foot) to a metro station, and is only one stop from the old town and two stops from Bellecour. I think the location is actually OK, given its room price. The neighbourhood was quiet, with some schools and some sports facilities nearby. There were only one bakery, a pizza restaurant and a SPAR supermarket around, as far as I could see. It could be a bit inconvenient if you need something to eat when these establishments are closed. This happened to me one night when they were closed and the hotel restaurant could not cater for me (there were some tour groups at the hotel and I didn’t want to be seated at a corner of the restaurant). So I just took the metro back to the old town (one stop away on the same line) where there were dozens of restaurants to choose from. No problem at all.

The receptionists were friendly and polite. The room I had was of a reasonable size, and the bed was very big and very comfortable. The free wifi was good. There was an electrical kettle with complimentary instant coffee, tea bags, and bottled water in the room. The hotel provided a breakfast buffet at the restaurant (about 12 euros/head) and continental breakfast at the bar (5 euros) but I didn’t take either so can’t comment on them. Overall I was very happy staying at this hotel, and would recommend it to anyone.

Regarding Lyon, get a Lyon City Card, enjoy the free transport/museums and join the free walking tours and boat trip. I think the card provided excellent value for money.
