“Great View, Simple Food, Amateurish Service, Overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

How far must we have come that fresh salads at pubs in England were consistently better than those at a French restaurant in Lyon!

We visited during August while the standard restaurant stops business and a simpler service is offered called "Sur les toits de Lyon" instead, self-described as "more like a brasserie".
Indeed, the menu was simple enough with four options for each of starters and main courses and a very reasonable price.

Dishes were acceptable, unimpressive with quite standard salads, very small and still reasonably prepared servings of beef filet and chicken breast. The one exception was croutons in the supposedly typical Lyonnaise salad, poorly fried and unpleasantly fat.

Beer and mineral water made the overall dinner price a poor deal. While we did expect high drink surcharges, we find very inappropriate that drink prices are kept out of the menu. Would have happily accepted this with a good meal, we find this helps spoiling such an average meal experience.

Service was kind, with some annoying inconsistencies such as putting water away from the table then failing to show up to fill glasses, and disappearing at the end of dinner without offering to bring the bill.

“Exceeded my expectation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2011

The hotel Radisson Blu is awful, but its "gourmet" restaurant is actually pretty good.

Dining solo on business, with my ipad. The view from the restaurant is great (same as the view from the rooms). The set dinner menu is actually excellent for a hotel restaurant, and I ordered a half-bottle to go with the meal - not always an option for good restaurants. Service is not bad at all either - overall deserves one michelin star, in my humble opinion.

I was surrounding by couples dining maybe to celebrate something. Staff did an excellent job in seperating large groups in another wing of the restaurant (so that the solo business diners like myself and the loving couples can have a quiet dining space to themselves)

Price tag a bit stiff, that is the only negative. But not a worry for those on expense.

“nice dining experience with a view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2010

Restaurants in hotels are probably not the first choice if you want to go out for diner in a city and especially if you stay in another hotel. I staid at the Radisson hotel already in the past an knew the bar of the hotel with a nice view on Lyon from previous visits to Lyon, but never had tried the restaurant. Reading these reviews on triapdvisor, convinced me to give it a try. We ordered a table close to the window to enjoy the view with some nice food. The quality of the food and especially the different fine tastes were excellent. The service was correct. It is not the cheapest place in Lyon, but certainly value for money.
