“Simple and delicious food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

A very nice place and friendly atmosphere. They have a good set menu and available alternatives to the strong bouchon food.

“memorable”

Simple yet charming. The salad with warm chevre cheese is a most amazing version of that dish. Terrific experience and great value for price.

“Good value, honest food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

Just returned from dinner there. Superb evening spent in an intimate setting with friendly staff and great food.
As others have said, the portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. The Lyonnaise salad is so large, it is almost a meal in itself.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a classic Lyon experience.

What more can you want, staff were helpful, small intimate ambience, good bistro food at very reasonable prices. A great value, worth a visit.

“Un Deux, Buckle my Sheux”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

After wandering round the Old Town of Lyon, not wanting to fall into the usual tourist traps that are inevitably waiting round every corner to entrap you with mediocrity at a price, we turned to the trusty TA to see if any of the of the restaurants in the old part were any good.

This one had good review and it certainly did not disappoint. This is a small restaurant that doubles in size if the weather is good, right on one of the quaint little squares where restaurants peddle their trade. The good thing about this place is that it looks a prime candidate for the tourist trap, but it really isn't.

The food is excellent, all obviously cooked by a chef in the know, typical simple French food, well executed. The service was attentive and light hearted.

I had Escargots and entrecote steak with béarnaise sauce - Both absolutely stunning. My lady wife had the Lyonnais salad (a towering monster of leaves, croutons, lardons and loveliness topped with a soft boiled poached egg) all followed by poached salmon. Again faultless.

The deserts were magnificent too, and all at a really reasonable price.

Would we go back? We already did the following lunchtime! Same result.
