Probably the most delightful aspect of this restaurant is its lovely terrace. It is located on a small patio surrounded by a few trees, a fountain and plenty of shade on warm days (we have never eaten inside but the interior looks pleasant too).
Our meal was very good, and reasonably priced, 24 euros for a plate of filets de perches du lac with fries, shallot sauce, and a side salad with lettuce and mixed vegetables (the rest of the menu seemed appetizing and original, so it was a tough choice). The fish, shallot sauce and salad were delicious, I found the fries not crispy enough for my preference but still tasty.
The service was friendly during our meal, and especially before we arrived. We called ahead for a reservation at noon, and had to call twice to move the reservation as we were stuck in traffic jams. We ended up arriving shortly before 2pm, but they were really understanding (even if it was the end of the service time and they were short of one cook that day).
It was not our first visit to the Muratore, and we will definitely be back next time we are in Evian!
