I stayed here for a short 4 day break with 5 chaps on our annual "lads trip".
The bedrooms were certainly basic with mine (no. 42) consisting of 2 wooden twin beds with bedside table, a small desk and chair, a small built in wardrobe and the smallest flat screen TV i have ever seen. Although they lacked much storage space (Particularly for drying ski gear), they were comfortable clean and had a few nice touches like the Molton Brown toiletries.
However, the rest of the hotel (Bar, restaurant, food, location, cost) was fantastic and the service from the staff was very good. They were all friendly, helpful and happy to go the extra mile. The only negative was the lack of spa/pool facilities as it would have been nice to relax after a day on the slopes.
The hotel is located about 20m from the slope, which means it is only a 1 minute ski down to the main lift stations....A major plus for me.
Overall, i would certainly rate Saint Louis as an excellent hotel, even compared to many of the other more glitzy places, and I will certainly be back there with the lads. But i think there would need to be a few improvements in the rooms and facilities before bringing the family for a more relaxing holiday.
