“Very nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2012

We stayed there for 3 nights, returning from our wedding in a nearby resort. We absolutely loved it. We were upgraded to a suite where the bedroom was absolutely fantastic. They have tailor-made bathroom amneties that are lovely. A nice pool, hamman and sauna (just downside it would have been awsome that the pool actually goes outdoor)...The decoration is a mix of a modern chalet and design furnitures. The breakfast is fantastic, the staff at the ski shop very professionnal with the best equipment.
Finally the service is top class, staff very polite and helpful. They can book you in in any restaurants of Courchevel last minute, you have the usage of the shuttle direct to the city center within a minute, and the concierge is just there for anything you need. I'll go there anytime.

To Whom it may concerns,
I really wanted to write you a few words concerning my stay in la Sivolière this week-end.
I came on Sunday, January 22 and we unfortunately had to leave on Tuesday, January 24…What a big shame..indeed..
I was a cabin crew member for ten years and I flew all over the world. This means I slept in many hotels, 4 and 5 stars, and this is the really first time that I feel such a great spirit.
We arrived at Courchevel by coach and it all started with your shuttle drivers who were just so cute and helpful, we then arrived at the reception and Julien and the other receptionist (I don’t remember her name…really sorry) welcomed us as if we were at home…and what a breathtaking home…this is the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen in my life!!! Incredible!!
The different Concierges we had were great too and the beautiful lady advised us a terrific restaurant on Monday night: la via ferrata. We had so much laugh and food was excellent!!A wonderful memory for everybody I think.
Your restaurant was gorgeous and the team was taking care of us like their only guests (despite the fact that there were other people!!). Congratulations to the Chef too: beautifully presented and delicious meals!!
Our activities and meeting room in la Cabane des Bûcherons were terrific, Fabrice and the team just great!!!
You welcome kids and pets like kings and this is really significative: you simply care..
So please do thank everybody for being so caring, helpful and generous towards me and the rest of the group. Your team spirit and service are your strength: keep your precious and discreet employees. We could really see that they love their job as it was just natural for them to help us.
He can be proud of you All!!
With my warmest thanks and best regards from Geneva!

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and througout our stay nothing was too much bother... from slippers being ready on arrival after a days skiing to attentive service at Dinner, everything seemed to flow....

Having looked at other reviews it is fair to say that the rooms are not the biggest in resort although room 37 located on the 2nd floor was more than ample for 2 people... with a great balcony, bathroom and plenty of storage space.

Having stayed at Les Airelles, I can say with confidence the Sivoliere is a totally different experience... to compare the two would be unfair... I found Les Airelles to be a little fussy and more 'corporate hotel' without the warmth and welcome on offer at the Sivoliere.

The restauraunt offered a fantastic menu and the wine list extensive... it is presented on an iPad... how long it will be before someone 'borrows' the iPad during dinner only time will tell...

At breakfast dont be afraid to ask for your favourite dish... whilst there is not a menu as such fantastic Egg's Benedict were served and some of the best Scramble Egg I have ever had.

The Spa was more than adequate... Steam Room and Sauna were spotless and the swimming pool was as expected... they are never Olympic size in hotels but this one was more than 3ft deep which was nice. Check out the water dispenser on the wall... that is if you can find it... ubber cool...

Some have said the Decoration is Pretentious... the pictures on the www site give you a good feel for the place.... if you dont like a little bit of pretense don't go... sure it's all a bit black and moody but it feels great, the open fires are a bonus.... one of the most random elements of the decoration is that there are no signs on any of the doors... all of which are black... in case you need to know the toilet near the restauraunt is the door to the right of the entrance to the Ski Room.... but you soon get used to it... kind of makes it interesting, who knows what behind the next door !!!

As for value for money... lets face it... 1850 is not the place to go if you are looking to make comparisons of value / cost... the Sivoliere is not cheap but then you know that when you make a booking... what it is though is a hotel with one of the best locations, great restauraunt, a team who are attentive and considerate to your needs.... and to top it all they have a menu for your dog (only in 1850 !!)

Pretty sure you wont be disapointed with La Sivoliere... if you are looking for the next level up in luxury try the K2... although be prepared to shell out €13,000 per night for an 8 person apartment.

Enjoy.

The best thing about La Sivoliere is the in-house ski shop which offers exceptional service, great equipment and is very convenient. The second best thing is the location: you are on the slopes and can enjoy fresh tracks down to the lower village first thing in the morning. The last good thing is actually a tie between the bartender who comes up with a daily 'invention' and the kid’s room where my daughter made many friends.

The room was minuscule by any standard. We had the junior suite, a larger room, and we couldn't fit our suitcases as a family of three. The bathroom was disproportionally large.

Some of the meals were very good and local wines on the list offered great value, but the breakfast service was, well, there was no service. The food is uneven as is the restaurant service.

The pool / spa area is small and it is not relaxing. The non-stop jazz music gets really annoying.

If you are tall like I am (187cm) then you will find that the ceilings are a little low in general.

We had a few issues with the service: trouble checking in and checking out, an erroneous spa charge which was eventually reversed and a few other minor problems.

It’s too bad because it could be a fantastic little spot - but it’s just not worth what they charge given the many irritants and the size of the rooms.

I hope they address a few of these issues because the potential is there.

Rooms were small but cosy, service was ok but for the price they charge you would be right to expect much more. Not comparable to other 5* we've stayed at...

It fully deserves 5 stars. Our room was very nice and cozy. The services are excellent, in particular the concierge and the ski-man resident in the hotel. The Spa zone is a bit too small. The hotel is literally on the slopes, so you can leave the hotel with your ski, and come back via a free shuttle provided by the hotel.
