“Chamonix from above.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

This is a specular ride and view. It takes a while to get on the tram because of all the skiers doing the Valle Blanche, but worth standing in line. The views from the top are the greatest you at the top of Europe at over 12,000 feet looking at Monte Blanc. The air is so thin you can see forever.

“Slow and packed like sardines.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

This 20 minute ride up to the glacier site is tough going because too many people are so rude but it is definately worth it. Get in front for the next train and pick seats by the door before the crowd takes over. Very interesting ride, though, and unless you want to hike up the mountain this is the way to the glacier.

“Loved the experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

I am afraid of cable cars, but the weather was wonderful and the experience was like none other. I recommend you go during a low tourist season as I am sure it can get very crowded.

“Nice to go with kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

If you are visiting Chamonix with kids or friends who do not ski it is a must to take this lovely train and go to see "la mere de glace"the beautiful end of "la Vallee Blanche".The train in the afternoon ,sometimes takes home tired skiers of La Vallee Blanche or in late spring they must take it if the snow is melting at the bottom,so make sure you go not too late.If it is a beautiful day you can even picnic there and admire the wonderful mountains.

“Engineering masterpiece makes for a great day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Top section to the Eagle's Nest (closed this summer) is awe-inspiring and opens up a fine scramble up to the glacier. Watch out for long queues up and down in high season. Book your return slot as soon as you get to the top!
