“Great Hotel and Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

First time at this hotel, very clean, friendly staff. The hotel is at a great location with views of Mont Blanc from our terrace/balcony. Just a couple of minutes from the Aiguille du Midi cable car. Free outside parking and free Wi-Fi. Room of modern design, not the biggest bathroom though. Would come back again next visit. Thank you Le Morgane.

Once we navigated the one-way and pedestriam streets system in chamonix (0 points to sat nav, 10 points to googlemaps) to find easy on site parking, a warm welcome and a lovely room made us relax immediately. The room (junior suite) was really lovely with huge terrace and fantastic views of Mont Blanc where we sat each night watching the sun set. Bed huge and comfy, English TV channels if you like that kind of thing, and modern decor. A few things could do with a bit of a touch up - odd bit of paint needed, scratches on lovely chairs, worn bits on the rug, or hole stitches needed in the sofa, but honestly this is just being picky and didn't detract from the overall experience. Staff all lovely, good with recommendations for restaurants, walks, bike rides (ask them about borrowing the hotel bikes). Used the spa once, small but nice atmosphere and quiet in the evening. 2 of the best things about this hotel 1) good location, close to everything and you can practically fall onto the aguille du midi cable car 2) the restaurant food is out of this world; deceptively simple but outstanding and compared to prices we paid in geneva, really reasonable. Main course and a wine each came to 77euro total, not cheap but if you consider the portions were generous plus you get bread, an amuse bouche and sweet truffles afterwards we left full both times we ate there. Do go if you can.

Only 2 things to say about this hotel, but they are both positive! Hotel is really beautiful, but at the same time retains its coziness, which is appreciated for a mountain hotel. Secondly, food at the restaurant is one of the best I had for this price, a great quality vs price ratio, and a very gentle staff there.

We hadn't even got through the front door and the staff had come to help with our bags. That set the tone for our stay. We had three nights in total, split up by our seven day Tour Du Mont Blanc walk. The rooms were large by European standards and we had an amazing view. The cleanliness stood out and lots of little touches such as bathrobes and chocolates each afternoon. Breakfast was comprehensive with plenty of choice and again, presented in a clean and well lit dining area. Overall, a highlight of our visit to Chamonix, and a welcome bit of luxury at the end of our long, hard trekking.

We stayed here for one night on our journey back to France from Italy. It was out of season so the hotel and Chamonix were both pretty quiet. The hotel itself was quite nice, parking was very easy and the location is good so it is not hard to find the hotel and Chamonix itself is only small so you are close to everything. The room was a slightly odd shape and did feel a little cramped, the bathroom was especially small, but for one night it was fine. The room did have a little balcony outside so that was quite nice as you could sit and look at the mountains.

The spa area wasn’t quite as good as I had hoped and did show some signs of aging but it was ok and we spent some time in there. The real plus for this hotel was the restaurant which lived up to expectations. After having a cocktail in the cosy little bar area, we ate dinner and had a fantastic meal; I’ve never eaten so much food in one go! The menu allowed you to choose from a small selection of main course dishes or you could have a taster menu which (I think) gave options of 4,5 or 6 dishes, most of which were also available on the main menu but in larger portions. The taster menu was very good value. To finish the meal I chose the cheese board and was presented with the most impressive selection of cheese I have ever seen, there must have been at least 35 different cheeses from which you were able to choose a small selection, although there was a supplement to pay for the cheese board. There was also an impressive wine list.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, the staff were pleasant, the hotel itself was nice (if not amazing) and the restaurant was fantastic. If I stayed in Chamonix again I would consider this hotel but I would also look at others as the room was quite small as was the bed.

We stayed in a double on second floor.
Very Friendly Helpful Staff
Great Location and is very central but is still quiet at night (but we went end of summer).
Comfortable bed
Great Balcony-but the chairs are made of steel so use the foot blankets from the bed to line them.
Separate toilet (no sink in that room) and shower room.
The shower room and sink were very small and only one person could use at a time.
Used the free bikes to cycle along the river
Good spa-but very small changing room. We used the spa shower after taking the bikes out after check out.
Breakfast if 15e and when you go into the village a hot breakfast will cost almost as much so enjoy the eat as much as you like breakfast.

The bedrooms are thoroughly cleaned and redressed everyday.

The carpets look a bit tired from the heavy hoovering.
The towels are very thin and not fluffy as you would expect in a 4 star hotel.
You do have robes and slipper, but again the robes are not soft or fluffy.
All the door are pull open which reduces space if they chose sliding doors for the bathrooms maybe two people could use it and for the balcony you would save a lot of space.
On the desk is a wooden box which is screwed down with a hair dryer in it and its at an awkward angle and takes up valuable space.

I would stay again but I would check other locations out first.
