Whilst I agree with some of the points made by previous reviewers, I fail to comprehend the universally glowing reports of other guests.

Certainly, Becky & Todd were excellent hosts and great company and the food & wine was good, but there were other issues that undermined the experience.

First and most importantly, the chalet is neither convenient for the slopes nor for the town. Agreed, a transfer service is provided by the chalet company, but this is available for one trip into and one trip out of town every day. Our first couple of attempts to use this service were thwarted due to the absence of a driver at the allotted time. This would have been fine except that the bus service into town runs only every 30 minutes, and stops completely before 8pm. Thereafter we found ourselves at the mercy of the local taxi service which we found to be both unreliable and expensive. Should you opt for the walking option to return to the chalet, you are looking at just under 1/2 an hour from the town centre and 20 minutes from Chamonix Sud. This proved to be something of a disincentive for us to go into town and experience the apres ski.

On the plus side, the rooms were clean and tidy, the hot tub was great and the 500+ films available to guests was a bonus. For those of you who anticipate skiing during the day and then retiring for the night to the chalet, then this is the place for you. If you intend to be a regular visitor to the pubs and clubs in the town then I suggest you stay a closer to the centre.

Just arrived back from spending Christmas week at Chalet Chocolat. What a fantastic experience...Tod and Becky looked after us wonderfully and were great company. The food was fantastic. Anyone going out this season should look forward to their experience.

This company has definately got everything right...the main thing being the happy helpfull staff!

Tiah and Duncan were superb, worked like trojans all week and were always there to answer our questions and stuff us full of wonderfull food. (AMAZING cakes to die for!)

I really made full use of the hot tub after a day on the slopes...a great place to be watching the sunset reflecting on the mountains if you are lucky enough to have clear skies.
I would recommend getting the tram/train on chalet day off ...to the final stop which leads to Le Tour...much nicer than the bus!
I also reget not wearing a bikini under my board gear one day so that I could jump in the hot tub that they have on the slope at Flegere!!! think the place was called La Chavanne restaurant...great music and a nice view of a few slopes fom the many deckchairs!
Le Vert pub is just a short 5min walk away from the chalet and had a nice atmosphere if you can't be bothered to walk or bus it into town, but the chalet is so nice you would be just as happy chilling there. REALLY enjoyed my week ...you should also check out thier places in Morzine too.

Just back from a great week at Chalet Choclat. Food was excellent all week and the hosts Tiah and Duncan were extremely friendly and helpful. The driver Will with a W helped us to get to and from the ski resorts each day which saved us from having to navigate the Chamonix transport system. All in all a brilliant place to go on holiday and well worth every penny. Only problem was that I didn't want to leave!

Did we enjoy our stay at Chalet Chocolat. The accommodation was fantastic, open, airy and accommodating. The hot tub was the ultimate at the end of the ski day, along with the home-made cake!! Our hosts, Duncan and Tiah, were just awesome - the 3-course dinner was absolutely fabulous!! - and their professionalism shone through!! Steve, our driver for the week was fab!! The other chalet guests were great fun too! What more can I say!! CHALET CHOCOLAT ROCKED!!

It was a fabulous holiday, enjoyed by everyone!!

Room Tip: For a family, there is a accommodation which can be a self-contained apartment.

Had a fabulous time at chalet Chocolat, the food was first class and the staff went above and beyond what their job required of them to make sure we all had a wonderful stay. Duncan, Tiah and Heggy made a great team and were available to help whenever we needed them. They are certainly an asset to Rudechalets. I know for one I shall miss Duncan's gergeous home made cakes! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great stay in the alpes.
