“Skiing, Flegere-Chamonix”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

I live in Geneva and have skiied in Chamonix and Argentiere many times but never from the Flegere parking lot. Drive through Chamonix towards Argentiere and it is up to the left inbetween Chamonix and Argentiere. The parking lot was wide open at 9:30 and is free. the Caisse and cable car are right there. SO much easier than the walk at Chamonix and no crowds. the snow was great; the pistes wide open. you can take a cable car to connect with the Brevent section of Chamonix if you wish. Bring a picnic to eat at the picnic table at the top of the cable car because there are not a lot of dining options. The views of the mountains are spectacular and the slopes are sunny throughout the day, unlike Argentiere which is shady.

“VERY OLD CABLE CAR”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Despite Chamonix calls itself The Capital of Skiing, the cable car and most of the chairlifts of the skiing area called Flegere are quite old and very very slow....
If you arrive early you will have to queu at least 30 min.before you get to the top ,this when you are lucky. The skipass is quite expensive ,43 euros and also if finally you can go to Brevent from the top ,over there it will take you ages to get to the restaurants or the top of the slopes because the only chairlift is so old and slow that you rather skip lunch and continue skiing ...what a pity! everywhere else in the French alps they try to improve ,here they just make you pay more.

“If you like to line up for 45 minutes to get up the mountain this is good choice”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

Long waits to get up the mountain (45 mins), intermediate runs were pretty sleep and powdery. None of the maps were working, so had no idea where to go

“Gateway to a wonderful walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

From here you can walk to Le Lac Blanc or - even better - take the ski lift from there to Index. There are fantastic views from the station and you can visit the refuge restaurant before starting on your journey. It's worth going to Le Lac Blanc as if you are as lucky as we are, you'll see marmots, ibex and chamois and, of course, there are the magnificent views across the valley to le Mer de Glace and snowy mountains.

“Nice place for skiing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Flegere is very good place for skiing, not as good as Grande Montets, but really worth visiting, could recommend it.
