This hotel is in the centre of the town and although it is on a busy street it has its own underground car park immediately to the left of the front entrance of the hotel. At 12 Euros for 24 hours this is a good rate in such a fine city. It is about 10 mins walk to the lake, but an enjoyable walk at that. The hotel is clean and well appointed with a decent breakfast but lots of other options to eat out.

Acceptable place other than the tremendous noise of the place. Garbage trucks outside very thin walls and windows at 6am. Hammering away and very loud cleaning at 9am when one is trying to sleep in. The place is very very loud and rather cheaply constructed so the noise travels. I would not return nor would my business colleagues.

Very good location, just in the heart of ancient Annecy.
Everything is VERY close (from 5 to 15 min by walk). You don't need to use transport (only if you want go outside Annecy or have a round-trip of Annecy lake).
The view was nice (even the windows looked just at the street, but we could even see the mountains from the left side).
The breakfast was good.
The room was nice, clean, separate bathroom and toilet (very thoughtfully).
The staff is very polite.
The only thing - I would choose the room looking at the yard - it was VERY NOISY at the weekend's night unfortunately. I even didn't see anything like that NOWHERE - People leaving the nearest nightclubs and bars just stay talking VERY LOUD on the street AT NIGHT FOR HOURS!!! They leaved just after 4 a.m.(!) I could not sleep at all - the ancient street with the huge echo-effect. I was so exhausted and angry, but haven't any strenght to complain. I just asked myself - what was that?! When I talked about it to the staff the next day - the answer was ridiculous - after apologizing politely for the inconvenience - the young lady said it was due to a mardi-gras carnival (!).
I am not sure the staff don't know anything about it, I saw some complains.But still don't do anything. It's a pity.

Stayed 2 nights at the Pre Carre at the end of June. This is a small independent hotel in the city centre, very clean, comfortable and quiet, with friendly and helpful staff. Great air conditioning (also silent) which was welcome in the heat of 33 degrees. We had the larger “Privilege” room, at the back of the hotel, so away from any potential road noise at the front. There was a small balcony, but no view – only to backs of apartments and a car park - however it is in the city centre. Our room was near the lift and we were concerned it might be noisy, but again it was v quiet, and we did not notice it. Nice modern and clean bathroom with rain shower and bath.

The hotel is an easy 5 min walk to the lake in one direction, and to the Old Town in the other direction. We had breakfast in the hotel for convenience – 16 Eu. Buffet breakfast of fresh orange juice, coffee, yoghurts, breads, pastries, cheeses, ham, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs etc, all nicely presented and fresh.

It is a 5 min walk from the railway station – easy to find, once you’ve found your way out of the railway station – ask someone to point you to the right exit of the station for Rue Somellier.
We took a taxi to Geneva airport as the buses are not frequent and offered no convenient times for our flight, and there is no train service. Taxi took 30 mins, Eu 95. Takes up to 2 hours on the bus! However the taxi driver did say the road can be v busy at commuter times so bear this in mind.
