“Excellent business facilities, very comfortable bed, average decore, over priced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here for a business trip and brought my family.

The conference facilities were excellent, first class. The audio worked very well, the room was comfortable and the projection was high def.
Catering was ok. The patisserie i thought would be great being in france but was average. Lunch and dinner were great.

The rooms are quite dated, with old decore and posters on every floor of the 1972 Munich Olympic games. I never understood the significance of that. The room service food was very over priced for what we got, soup and fries, steak and fries, chocolate dessert, hamburger, water, 90E, with a 20% 'service fee'. Breakfast is not special with average spread as in any hotel. There are some restarurants not too far away.

The bed was very very comfortable and the rooms are dark enough in day time to have a snooze, but not pitch black.

There is no pool.

Rooms are over priced.

The hotel is in a beautiful location near the lake, with a bird avery, and park for kids. It is located near another playground with trampolines and blow up jumping castle among other things. There is also a public water slide in the lake. All perfect for the summer. The walk into old town with mountain vistas is awesome.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay overall, but i would not stay here again mainly for the cost of rooms if pay full price. You can enjoy all the nice things of the area by staying in town and walking there to enjoy the park and lunch on the balcony with beautiful mountain views.

Dear Sir,

Following your recent stay, we would like to thank you for having taken the time to give us your full impression.
Thank you for the nice comments regarding your meeting attendance. We have passed them on to the staff concerned.
Regarding the decor of our rooms, indeed we have not done much change since our re-opening in 1990 (rooms have been renovated in the same style) but rest assured that with our new owners, PVG Group since last August, some new refurbishment is planned to be done (new bedrooms and bathrooms firstly, than SPA and pool).
Concerning the Olympic posters, being in a region that welcomed 3 times the Olympic Games, it was decided 20 years ago to follow this theme for the decoration of the hotel. The town of Annecy had also been candidate for the games but failed.
Moreover, our previous owner and our former General Manager had a collection of more than 3 000 original Olympic posters (with the Games from 1896 to 2014) which were made available for any cultural exhibitions around the world. It was a way for us to communicate about L’Impérial Palace of Annecy.
For the hotel bedrooms, they chose the Munich Games as they were a German family, but above all because they had an impressive number of original posters of Olympic sports of this year. There is no other significance attached.
Unfortunately, the 1972 Games will probably be best remembered for the terrible terrorist attack which undoubtedly sticks to the image of these games. But in no way we support such an unacceptable slaughter.
Hopefully by the beginning of next year, our new owner will have chosen some new posters to decorate the hotel, as we, anyway, had decided to change this style a few months ago.
Concerning the room service offer, we regret that our menu dishes did not meet your requirements which are in cohesion with other 4* hotels and we have passed your comments to the Head of Food & Beverage, so that our team can make sure it remains a good value for money. To have quality services and to give full satisfaction to our clients is our main goal.
For good deals throughout the year, please do not hesitate to surf on our website to discover all the promotional offers that we can have, depending on the periods.
We also remain at your disposal, should you have further questions.

Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Best regards
Ghislaine Blampey

We decided to walk around to enjoy a lunch here yesterday....a lovely setting right on the lake....we were going to dine inside, but found it to be very hot & stuffy...so asked to sit outside on the deck....the girl serving us was not very friendly, I ordered a ginger spiced mango cocktail...she brought it out in its bottle, poured it into a wine glass (half full) with a straw!!....9 euros was to say the least, disappointing!.....I would expect a freshly made cocktail for that price!....not served professionally at all!!..........the outdoor furniture needs updating, along with the placemats!!....food was ok...setting was lovely.....

First class hotel in an absolutely magnificent setting. You will not forget the lake view if you are fortunate enough to have a room on that side. Dining on the terrace a magnificent experience. Not a casino person so no comment. Very helpful staff. Modern excellent rooms. Get out and walk the area, bike the wonderful bike trails and enjoy a leisurely cafe in old town. Would definitely return, and hope to do so.

Room Tip: lake view upper level worth it

Although this hotel shares it's building with a congress centre and casino, once inside you get the benefit of a relatively modern refurb. We had a corner room with views over the lake. Everything functional. Mile long walk into town was very pleasant.

The location of the hotel is beautiful. The grounds and the view of the lake is just perfect. It is about 15 to 20 minutes walk from Annecy, and the leisure walk is a nice break from all the tourists from town. The decor is art deco, which is interesting. Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was a little pricy but nice.

The best thing about this hotel is it's location at the head of the lake. We had a room overlooking the beautiful grounds and Lake Annecy. Couldn't have been nicer. A pleasant 15 minute walk Into town along the water's edge through lovely paths.
The hotel itself Is lovely, although perhaps a little tired and pricey for what you get. The outdoor patio facing the lake is fabulous. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Dining is expensive, including breakfast. Service is agonizingly slow.

This hotel is so beautiful on the outside, and sits majestically on the lake.

The room was a nice size and the balcony was great for letting in a breeze and looking out over the city.

Staff were helpful in taking care of little things we needed, and helping to make transportation arrangements.

We stayed there on a business trip, and are grateful that we got a chance to stay in such a beautiful place.
