“Well located, nice hotel; experience diminished by poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

To get to the point, this hotel has comfortable rooms and a very convenient location (near the train station toward the lake), but is brought down by very unpleasant front desk staff. To be fair, it's one member of the staff, an older woman (sorry not being ageist or sexist here, but that's the only way I can differentiate). She was on the phone when I entered the lobby, and continued on her conversation without acknowledging my presence or appearing in any rush to finish her call. After she hung up, she sounded annoyed about whatever topic she was discussing. Fine, one person can only do so much. But afterward when I asked about restaurant recommendations near the hotel, her reaction was as if I asked her when to catch the next train to Mars. Uh... you work at the front desk of a hotel... if you don't enjoy answering such silly questions, then perhaps find another career path.

Ok we all have bad days. But the next day, she was just as unpleasant. Another guest was asking about the vignette needed to drive in France (this is not so obvious if you're not from Europe). Her attitude reflected that she thought she was speaking to the dumbest person on the planet. So condescending. Once again if you don't like people asking you questions, then find another job.

Besides the bad service, the other annoying thing about this hotel is the extremely unreliable wifi. At least it was free, but it better have been free given how rarely it actually worked. This was even more an issue because the hotel seems to be in a cellular dead zone, so the only way to get online is with the barely-working wifi.

I could have tolerated the poor wifi (after all Annecy is a beautiful city and you really should be outside exploring), but the one staff member was so bad that I wouldn't want to stay at this hotel again. The one other front desk staff member I encountered was pleasant and helpful; too bad she could not work all the time.

We were pleased with this choice of hotel.

The hotel is reasonably priced and well located close to the train station and several underground car parks.

Breakfast is typically continental thought the croissants were very good (buttery).

It is approx a 20 minute walk to the old town and the main Xmas market which was the reason for our trip.

This is not a luxury hotel but it is very nice, clean, warm and well located for the station (5 mins?) and the old town, 5 mins. The parking (additional fee) was particularly good for us because we had car full of things that I did not want to leave outside all night. The garage was a lock-up inside a locked parking area. The room was small but light and quiet. The shower was poweful and the beds comfortable (but twin beds are not our favourite). There is aircon, but we did not use it. No extractor in the bathroom lead to steam-up so we opened the window. The receptionists were very nice and very helpful. Both ladies' English was excellent too. We did not take breakfast there - we went out and found excellent local food - but we say the dining room and the breakfast spread - both looked very good. This is excellent value for money if all you need to do is crash for a night or two.

Two friends and I stayed at this hotel only one night and wish it had been more. Very nice, clean, accommodating staff, good breakfast available as well as wi-fi. The hotel pays for a set number of hours for parking and beyond that it is the responsibility if the guest....our part wasn't much.

Annecy has streets dedicated to walking....at least in the Old Town area....and we were 3 blocks from the heart of Old Town. Gorgeous area with a Venice feel...many of the buildings gong right down into the water on one side and an elevated walkway on the other. I would give it a 'don't miss' recommendation. :)

Room Tip: We were very precise in what we wanted.....and that is what we received.

I wanted to take my boyfriend for his birthday to annecy and after a lot of trip advisoring and researching I finLlu chose this hotel. There are many hotels in annecy with the same credentials, like the same price range the same star.. So it took my a while to choose... But I was very happy with my choice! The room was lovely, really spacious with both shower and bath. The option of breakfast in bed was well received because after a nice night out who wants to get up to go downstairs to have breakfast... The only problem I had was that the shower would randomly go from hot to cold, but it wasn't a big deal. The option of parking with the hotel was great too!!
I would happily stay here again ;)

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It was very comfortable, clean and well decorated. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection. The staff were very helpful also the parking was underground in a garage. It's close to the centre of the old part of annecy and 5 minutes from the lake. A really good mid range hotel.

Room Tip: We were very happy with our room on the third floor but I didn't see any others.

We stayed here for 2 nights with a toddler. Very convenient location, quick walk to the train station, and 1 block to the pedestrian shopping street that takes you into old town.
Great, sparkling clean hotel, reasonably priced. Clearly recently redone, as everything was modern. Small elevator, but fit our luggage and stroller.
We had the premium room, which was huge, with tub, closet, and couch. Well worth it.
The town is small, so no need to overpay to be in the "heart" of old town.
Only glitch was the fragile bathroom accessories. Hubby broke the toilet paper holder, which we had a laugh about, but not 5 minutes later, one of the towel bars came off in my hand. No big deal, just odd for such a new hotel.
