“Gorgeous little stay in the center of annecy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Design lovely pure and very white but still cosy... Very central our 5 year old loved the mezzanine bed...
Small equiped kitchen although we did not cook we did enjoy a very fine wine accompagnied by local cheeses meats and fruit from the market one evening...
If your a light sleeper might be disturbed by the central location with the delivery vans making early delivery or late night revelries ... But the bed and bedding is very comfortable... Would recommend

We stayed here 2 nights in the Dolce apartment. Entry the 1st time is a bit daunting via a dark hallway till you find the light switch. However when you follow the instructions given by Emilie, entry to the apartment is easy. Once inside and on your balcony overlooking the canal you will forget all about the hallway. Annecy is a charming little town, well worth a visit. A huge bath with hand held shower is in the middle of the room, a small kitchenette is included and an nespresso machine, perfect for a romantic getaway. Highly recommended.

Staying here is such an experience. We've no idea what we booked is not the hotel but the service apartment! The day we arrived Annecy was freezing and raining. We got of the train around 2 PM then decided to walk to the hotel. It's located on Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, which is not difficult to fine, not even for the hotel itself if...you've known it's not the hotel but the apartment.

We've walked along Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau several times, to find the hotel. Finally, we've seen #19 but still couldn't believe it's the right place so we kept walking then we've seen the small sign on the door of #18 - Un Lieu Unique, eventually.

Unlike what we've seen in the room, the entrance is totally different. The gate is old wooden style, a bit scary, while the room decoration is cozy & modern. With several attempts, we finally got the gate open then we have walked through smelly, scary dark corridor to 1st level and found nothing but another 3 dark doors and the safety box.

Now we felt pretty sure we're in the right place since we've seen the brochure of the hotel, the one we've booked and a bunch of travel info leaflet. Still, we've no idea how to get into the room but quite sure we need some kinds of code to open the safety box and get the key so...it's time to call them.

5 minutes after the called, they sent a security code to us via SMS, unfortunately, they sent us the wrong one and the security box is locked after third attempts so we have to wait another 10 mins for the box to be reset then try the new code then, finally got the key!!

So it took us almost an hour to get into the room. However, the room is so pretty & cozy, exactly like we've seen in the website! Also, smell very nice and warm. They provide everything we'd need, wifi password, nespresso machine, kitchenware, microwave, flat screen TV, fur blanket. The bed is warm & cozy. The bathroom is so cute, shower + rain shower in a wooden bath tub. The water is hot with strong pressure. It felt so good taking a hot shower after been through the rain, freezing weather.

Room Tip: There's no lobby or front desk so...'d call them before arrival! It's the service apart...

I would like to share my recent travel experience from my trip to Annecy, France. The city lives up to its reputation and it is one of the most beautiful and romantic places in the world. But I’m writing this review to talk about my experience of staying at the Un Lieu Unique Vacation Home. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and resorts earlier but I never knew that a vacation home can be so much beautiful. They give you a choice to different types of apartments and they are all so beautiful that it’s just not possible to describe them in words. Un Lieu Unique Vacation home is a heaven on earth.

well it was one of the bad hotel condition since the hotel room has diffident kind of Rodents and Insects which make my stay with my family to nightmare , the entrance of the apartment was so bad and dirty , also no one was there on both check in and out time ! , i sent a complaint to refund my money but not even an apologize from the hotel apartment about what happens ...

Room Tip: please do not even think about it !

Getting there was a nightmare! The road leading to the accommodation was closes to traffic due to the markets but we were unaware of that. We were advised by owners to park at the st Claire parking, but that was blocked due to the markets. So we spent a good 1 hour trying to locate this st Claire parking.
Park at hotel de ville instead.close enough and easy to locate.
The entrance to the room was scary and dark.
But the room itself was really great and the views alike. Can't complain about the price at all when you get a view like that. Right beside the canal and on Sundays, the market is right at your doorstep.
Be prepared to have communication issues I'd you don't speak French.
Make sure you ring them or email them beforehand, or else you will regret it.

A pretty good stay with an 18 month old and 4 year old. We stayed here for 3 nights. Saturday night was awful only because you are on a main street and not sure if there were a lot of partiers. The other nights have been pretty quiet. We stayed in the Cocoon apartment. They supplied a baby crib for the little one and the older one stayed up in the loft. The lighting and bathroom are unique. We were on the 1st floor so not much of a walk up. You are within walking distance to everything. We rented bikes about 2 minute walk away and went to the beach and the playgrounds. The restaurants are plentiful. The market on Sunday morning was huge and right around the corner. Perfect for our stay. The rest of our family (a group of 5) rented from someone on VRBO's website. Their place was so much larger, but also about 200 euros more. We would have stayed there if we would have stayed longer just because of the kids and the space. Our place was small, but figured it would be when we booked it.
