“An Oasis in the Middle of Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

This hotel is situated within easy walking distance to the heart of the flower bedecked, old lakeside Annecy. It is very clean and the staff is very helpful. They have off street parking and a large garden/courtyard area with ample seating. One of the things that we found to be very good was the nightly menu provided by the chef at the establishment. We had two marvelous meals there. One of which was lamb cooked to perfection. It rival any lamb that I have enjoyed in my native city which is home to Greek immigrants and their delicious lamb recipes. The piece and quiet sitting around in the courtyard in the evening and enjoying a cigar and brandy was worth the price of admission.

We stayed here for 4 nights in October on a B&B basis. As per previous reviews it is a small family hotel with clean but basic rooms.
It is great for using as a base for Annency and the surrounding area but would be a bit to basic if the weather closed in and you had to stay in the room or hotel for anything great length of time. We tried but failed to get coffee for out room, it had a kettle and tea bags, so either be prepared to bring your own or just buy some locally.

Super little hotel. Extremely clean and well run. Ideally situated just 5 minutes from the train station and about 10 minutes walk to the old town. Beds very comfortable, dining room well decorated and buffet breakfast offering all the usual Continental choices. Certainly deserves more than two stars!
Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: We stayed two nights in Room 3 on the ground floor, the one night in a second floor room. Both room...

I stayed here as part of a family holiday with my middle aged parents. The hotel is very quaint and excellently situated.

We found the staff very friendly and it very easy to leave and explore Annecy on foot.

We were there in the winter so we didn't make use off the garden, and I didn't have their breakfast as it wasn't included, but it looked good.

All in all very comfortable.

I agree with all previous positive reviews. Excellent location just 10 minutes easy walking from the old town. Good breakfast. And if you have a nice car then book a private garage, it would take dynamite to get into one of these!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter.

We stayed here for three nights last week, mainly due to the reviews posted here and we were not disappointed. This is a little gem of a 2* hotel and in many ways was preferable to the 4* Eden Palace in Montreux that we went on to stay in, where there was less storage space and no kettle in the room. We had room 22 - it was quite, comfortable, the shower was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and tasty. Car parking was free - not so at the Eden Palace. We ate a delightful meal at the hotel on our last evening there and were very happy with both the portion size and the quality of the cooking. The sun shone so we were able to take advantage of the delightful garden at the back of the hotel where a friendly young lady interrupted her own meal to get us some tea to have with the delicious cakes we had bought in the town. The walk to town is about a 15 minute stroll where you are spoilt for choice for restaurants and bars. I would recommend Le Petrin pizzeria for good modestly priced food (the panna cotta and the chocolate mousse are delicious) and L'escargot for more up market tastes! The 2 hour lake tour is not to be missed, but otherwise just wander around the old town and soak up the atmosphere.

This is a very pleasant hotel. A nice, clean, small hotel which is a short walk from downtown and the lake. Breakfast was lovely - as is the back garden. And, parking is included! The room we were in was tight and a little dated, but for the price, this was a great place for our three-day stay in Annecy. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay here again.
