“A Roman Town like few Others”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

The Glanum ruins are surprisingly large, covering many acres. The ruins consist mainly of building foundations with helpful signage explaining the function of each building. Across the highway is a very well-preserved ceremonial arch and a memorial to the grandsons of Caesar Augustus. The rooms sit at the foot of a small mountain range, adding to the beauty of the site. If you are a history buff, this is a can't miss site.

“One of the best Roman ruins”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

If you only have time to visit a few of the sites of Roman ruins in southern France, this is one you should not miss. The signage and explanations are excellent, as this was a Hellenistic site prior to the Romans taking it over and some of the ruins are almost 2400 years old. The triumphal arch is almost fully intact.

“Amazing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

This place was a lovely surprise as it was much bigger than we expected. Using the map and explanation they give you in English, it was easy to walk around and picture what this place must have been like in its day. Make sure you climb up the hill for a great view over the entire site.

“Extensive ruins of a Roman town”

Very interesting place, worth a visit if you're in or near St. Remy. Useful English pamphlet and information panels. Allow a couple of hours.
