“Great location and hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

We stayed 5 days at this great B&B run by Jocelyn and her husband. Jocelyn was extremely helpful with whatever we needed and her breakfasts were generous and delicious - especially the home made jams and crepes. The location is fantastic - great to walk into town and leave the car behind, especially for dinner. Free parking available on site and a nice pool to cool off in. Very nice gardens. Overall a great stay in this modest price range. Would definitely come back.

We only stayed a couple of nights in La Cigale et la Fourmi but we wish we stayed longer. The room (oriental) was great, with nice fittings and lights, a massive bath great for relaxing as well as a shower, all very clean.
The garden is great, we had a small table for our own use in front of the room just under a tree that has lights in it, romantic for dinner time :)
The swimming pool is nice too indeed, and a big advantage is the private parking as they are right in the city centre. So you can leave your car safe to visit St Remy's centre and market. Wifi available, the breakfast was delicious (thank you Jocelyne for the tasty peach puree!)

All things considered a perfect stay, I will definitely go back as soon as I can!

We have just spent two wonderful weeks at La Cigale et la Fourmi and really did not want to leave this little piece of paradise in St Remy de Provence. Nothing is too much trouble for Jocelyn or Hubert who have looked after us so well. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable - we haven't slept so well in ages. We had a table and chairs on the terrace outside our room covered by a beautiful little tree. The garden is a delight, with a lovely pool, many beautiful flowers, plenty of outdoor seating and table to eat at if you wish to. There is an outdoor kitchen which you are allowed to use, although we took advantage of the fantastic location - 2 minutes walk and we were in the lovely town with it's many restaurants. Breakfast was a marvellous spread including delicious home made jams, pastries, bread, brownies, fresh fruit and yogurt - and one morning fantastic crepes. The location is great for visiting so many beautiful places which Jocelyn helped us with each day!The parking is a real bonus as it is not an easy place to park otherwise. Thank you Jocelyn and Hubert for your excellent hospitality and kindness. We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: We were in the Oriental Room on the ground floor with large bathroom with the deepest bath I've...

We were so luckttofi d this place and we can't recommend it highly enough. First of all the house and garden are amazing and I doubt that anyone that has stayed here has not at some point uttered "could you imagine having a house like this!"

The breakfast is lovely with home made jams and fruits and the decor of the house and rooms is very tasteful with a Moroccan influence (some of the furniture designed by the owner jocelyn herself!)

The location is also great as it is a perfect place for exploring the area and it is in the centre of the very lovely st remy du Provence.

Jocelyn is a wonderful host and if you are lucky enough to get a room here you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.

We just spent a night at Jocelyns and Huberts B&B. The house is in the inner center of St. Remy but very calm, heated very well (floor heating, which is comfortable in January) and the decoration has much love for detail. The room we rented was on the main floor with a little terrace in front and had a very spacious ensuite bathroom with tub and shower. The owners livingroom was right next to the room. The breakfast is exceptional. Fruits, delicious Crepes, 2 kinds of bred, different jams and more. Thanks for your hospitality!

We recently spent two days in mid-October at this charming B&B in St Remy de Provence, France. Our room, and there are just two guest rooms, was on the main floor and opened to the back yard patio and gardens. The room was pleasantly decorated with large firm bed, and with a very nice and good sized bathroom with tub and separate shower. The owners, Jocelyn and Hubert, were very helpful and friendly. Jocelyn’s gourmet breakfasts were wonderful and went beyond our expectations with homemade preserves, fresh fruit, wonderful baked goods, delicious yogurts, and rich French coffee. What really makes this B&B so great though in addition to the fore mentioned is its location. It is literally a 3 minute walk to the village center and at the same time it is a private little paradise. It is a great place to hang out with large yard, pool, gardens and olive trees. I actually was able to help Jocelyn harvest olives one day and got a lesson in olive oil production. There is also private secure parking on the premises though we never needed the car for going into the village. The village of St Remy is wonderful in the off season with great restaurants, wonderful art and lots of history. It is also easy striking distance to many, many attractions in the area. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, comfortable accommodation with a great location with internet access and wonderful hosts, then I would highly recommend La Cigale et la Fourmi. Geno

ve just returned from a fabulous stay at La Cigale et La Fourmi. The B&B is located a stone throw away from the center of Saint Remy de Provence and its plethoras of restaurants, shops and the famous Wednesday morning market. Despite being so close to the center we felt we were in the middle of countryside. The owners, Jocelyne and Hubert are exceptional hosts. They have decorated their house with great taste. Each of the three rooms have a different theme. We stayed in the oriental room on the ground floor. It has an en-suite bathroom which is beautifully decorated and is exceptionally large. The bed was very comfortable and there was a huge amount of space to store our clothes. The breakfast was particularly nice with freshly baked pastries and various delicacies every morning. The pool is large, square shaped and of even depth (about 1.50m). The frontyard is very large and can accomodate very easily several cars. The backyard is where the action takes place: veranda for breakfast, pool and outside kitchen. We had several picnics in the garden and even had a bbq. At the back of the garden there is a "secret passage" to a private pathway leading to the circular street surrounding the old village. From the B&B we visited the region for over a week and had some of the most amazing holidays. We fell in Love with Provence.
