“Very interesting attraction”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Presented in a somewhat non descript way and in a part of town that is not the most obvious tourist destination, this is a must see for fans or even non fans of Corbusier if only to appreciate the cultural importance of the building. We went as part of a day out on the way to Parc Borely and the beach and spent around half an hour appreciating from the exterior.

“worth the detour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

Corbusier certainly had an interesting idea... very pleased we went there, well worth trying to find it (it's not hugely well signposted), a bit run down inside, roof terrace resembling an ocean liner is striking, useful point of reference if you then stay in the Residence du Vieux Port hotel.

“So great to see the real thing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

Architecture students must go. The reality is so much more imposing and impressive than the photos you have seen. It may have all gone wrong subsequently in others' hands but here you can clearly recognise the ideals of Le Corbusier.

was very surprise a random visit turned out a one of good experiences in marseille. we joined a small tour of 8 people to visit a women flat which still has original layout and condition. the owner was very friendly and explained the story of the apartment very well. highly recommended for a nice afternoon destination.

“Seeing Le Corbusier's building in the flesh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

With backgrounds in town planning and architecture, a visit to the Cite Radieuse was high on our list of things to do. It's a bit of a trek to get there from the centre of Marseille - metro, then bus or walk - but worth it to see such an icon in the flesh. Sadly, the outside of the building looks like it could do with some tender loving care. However, take the lift up to the newly restored roof terrace and you begin to get a feel for what it must have looked like in its heyday - stunning! Great shapes and spaces, and a wonderful 360 degree panorama of the city. You can also visit the "winter garden" on the third floor and have a meal in the restaurant there. Public wc next to the shop on the same level.
