If there is one thing that turns me off a restaurant, it is when it advertises itself outside with a good-looking Prix Fixe menu and then when you get inside you are not given it automatically. On this occasion we were tempted in by a menu for 17euro, greeted effusively by the maitre d' who ushered us to a table and then presented with an expensive a la carte menu and a prix fixe for 27 euro. Once we asked for the cheaper menu the whole attitude changed and we were made to feel very unwanted. We understand that this is not unusual at this establishment. Message to restaurant: if you don't want people to eat a particular menu don't advertise it.
That aside the restaurant is in a good location in the heart of the Vieux Port area and has a pleasant ambience. The food was average, my steak was a scrawny piece of meat, the bouillabaisse was very ordinary, the chicken and duck were OK without being anything special. The wine list was very much on the expensive side, but the house wines were actually quite acceptable.
I am afraid that it is hard to escape the feeling that this is just a tourist trap.
