“great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

The location is great because it's very close to train station, just cross the street. The hotel's just renovated so the rooms are clean and comfortable but there is too small elevator. Staff are nice. Free wifi in the rooms.

Room Tip: rooms on street side

Hotel is convenient for the stop over. We arrived via train and this lovely compact place is ideal.
Rooms are clean and comfortable.
Tea/coffee facilities available. You'll need to buy milk if you take with your hot drink.
Staff very friendly
Breakfast is continental and a good choice and is addition to your hotel fee (8 euro each).
Location is good for the trains and for a nice roaming around Marseille however if you wish for the hussle & bussle of Marseille, may be best to book nearer to the port.
Walking distance to the Canniebere and the port about 5-10 mins.
Overall a very friendly and comfortable place for a stay over...
Remember that city tax is addition to your hotel price, 1 euro each person

It's you're simply passing through Marseille, this could be a very convenient place to stay. It's relatively cheap, within steps of the train station, and a short drive from the airport. My wife and I both thought the room we were given stunk of cigarette smoke, but it's France. Besides, we hardly noticed the smell once the drunken homeless men outside our window started to fight.

My wife and I stayed for two nights at the Hotel Terminus and, unfortunately, it was not the most pleasant experiences (particularly for my wife!). Undoubtedly our mistake, but we had not booked one of their better rooms (so-called "confort" room); instead, we had a "standard" room. In the standard room, there is no air conditioning, our room faced the street with incredible noise all night long (the hotel is immediately adjacent the train station, which makes access to the station wonderful ... and our reason for choosing the hotel), the bathroom was not appealing, and in general the facility seemed rundown. After one night of that, we moved to a confort room so that we could run the air conditioner (mostly a street noise issue; could not sleep in the room without either the window open or an air conditioner for temperature control) and it had an 'upgraded' bathroom (but not fabulous!). The other thing that was a bit off-putting, especially for my wife, were the street people in the two blocks or so by the hotel. Indeed, we observed a family of gypsies camped out for the night almost below our room, complete with mattresses, etc. Because of the hotel location, one had to walk this street to access the main area of interest to tourists (i.e., the harbor area, which was quite enjoyable). So, as to a recommendation, I would suggest staying at the Hotel Terminus if location is critical to your visit (i.e., near the train station) and you are very modest in your needs for a nice place to stay. In 11 hotels in Europe during our visit, this was undoubtedly our poorest experience. Perhaps it is a matter of getting what you pay for!!

Room Tip: If traveling in the warmer season, choose a room with air conditioning!! I am not sure if it is pos...

Hotel is just outside St Charles Train Station. Very convenient to access train or metro. Short walk to Vieux Port in also very relaxing. Room is very comfortable. However, everytime when I walk pass the breakfast room, it is empty. Breakfast must be unattractive.

This was the best of a number of French hotels we stayed in on our recent trip there, and we were baffled by some of the more recent reviews which bear no relation to our experience. We had a very comfortable and clean room, the most comfortable beds of all the hotels, great shower, lovely view from our top floor little balcony and even a kettle and tea and coffee sachets which is unusual in French hotels. And the staff were all friendly and helpful. It's right next to the rail station, ideal for our early morning train. OK there was traffic noise but this didn't bother us as it was fairly constant, and we find this much less of a problem than air conditioning noise droning all night. We didn't put the ac on and wouldn't in any case have needed it as the weather at this time of year isn't hot or humid.

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor and had a great view of the city

The hotel is just in front of the St Charles Station, extremely convenient with the metro and the national trains. The Vieux Port is located 10-min away via downhill slope. The location is really good.

The room itself was OK, with decent bed & decent noise isolation, but WiFi was quite slow. Be cautious with elevator: for some part of the building, the elevator only starts at the 1st floor... Not very convenient with heavy lugage...

The breakfast buffet is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
