“I don't know what to say!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

You can check all of my reviews, to see how often I rate this high... not often!

These two (Mauro, and Serge) are too much! The day we got there, I had mentioned that we would love to find a place to enjoy some live Blues. Well, about an hour later, we were sitting in a restaurant, having some lunch, when my cell phone rang. It was Serge telling me that they found a local restaurant (5 min. walk from the B&B) that had a Blues band playing the next night, and that he reserved us a table. When we got there, all the tables were reserved, and, ours was right in front of the stage!

We are big fans of B&B's, and usually go for the high-end places. I will say that, hands down, this is the most perfect place we've ever stayed in, from the decor, to the table settings, to our private garden (we had the Asia room).

Mauro helped us every morning to plan out our day. If it took 2 minutes, or 20 minutes, he didn't care! They are wonderful people, and, Marseille is a wonderful city!

Room Tip: Both rooms are awesome, but, go all out.... Take the Asia room, with the private garden!

Mauro and Serge are the ultimate hosts. Their attention to customer service is impeccable, they love to pamper their guests and help out with any question or advice for a restaurant, event, exhibit or museum you could have.
The breakfast is delicious: all little delicacies home cooked by Mauro, coffee that goes from strong Italian one to the blender American.
The rooms, balconies and garden are little havens of peace and quiet, full of many plants, and statuettes to entertain the eye.
Despite being in town and close to the Corniche, le Petit Jardin offers a quiet atmosphere away from the traffic noise.
Highly recommended.

Mauro and Serge, they are the best hostess in the word, they always surprise you. Mauro is a beautiful and loving human being, he do everything with love and Serge is always organizing and taking care that all is perfect. I love both of them.
The room is amazing; they decorate it with great taste. The location is the best to be around Marseille.
But the main difference are the owners, they made a huge impact in our experience.

Out of the many great places we stayed on our honeymoon, Le Petit Jardin was by far my favourite. It is no wonder that the reviews speak as much about Mauro et Serge as the accommodation. We were made to feel at home from the moment we stepped in the door and, after a brilliant weekend in Marseilles, left knowing that we had found a home away from home. Apart from the amazing room, the guys pointed us in the right direction for sight seeing, eating out and put on the freshest breakfast of a morning. Most importantly, they even put with our dubious attempts at speaking Français! Can't wait until nous retournons...

What else can I add, which have not already been mentioned by the
Many, many positive comments on this website.

The guest house is beautiful and Mauro & Serge are perfect hosts who masters the perfect balance of being present and caring, while also allowing you to be yourself in their house.

The rooms has a great feeling and it shows the personality of the owners, who genuinely care for the well being if their guests. Breakfast served on the balcony is a treat much more enjoyable than sitting in a busy, noisy hotel breakfast room.

Mauro & Serge, you can be proud of what you are doing with this place.

Le Petite Jardin is not just a bed and breakfast it is a relaxing getaway to visit long time friends. We are definitely going back! Mauro and Serge have poured their hearts into life and it shows. Their English is very good and we really appreciated being able to talk with them about our plans and all the suggestions on what to see and do. Thank you for all the help with the public transportation. Breakfast was wonderful and the coffee was so yummy. The room was splendid, cozy, magical, amazing, comfy, clean and I really could just keep going on.
There is nothing bad to say and I wouldn't change a thing. We enjoyed every moment. We stayed three nights in the Asia room and fell in love! My suggestions are to make sure and have a map from the bus stop to the B&B that way you can find this amazing getaway and enjoy.

A bit late with this review, as stayed here in April, however could not say enough about how good it was to stay here.
Mauro & Serge were fantastic hosts. Mauro is so endearing and Serge has a wicked sense of humour.
There knowledge of the local area was amazing and their recommendations for sight seeing, restaurants and how to get around was unbelievable.
Breakfast was beautiful. The rooms were expertly decorated and extremely comfortable.
The location is great as reasonable close to most sight seeing, publich transport, the old part of town and restaurants (short walk or bus ride).
Travelled around Europe for 5 weeks. Only stayed here for 3 nights, however truly wish we had have spent more. Definetly best accom we stayed at in Europe
