Are you planning your stay in Marseille? Read this review, cause if not, you'll miss this very good hotel.
We arrived to Marseille by TGV train, so we went to hotel from St. Charles station and we decided to go there by foot. If you're not in a hurry, enjoy this walk, it's not so far. Just ask someone, how to go to Joliette and there you'll find signs of this hotel. In the summertime (when the weather is high =) ) it's a nice walk along some dirty and some lovely streets.
We arrived to hotel a bit than expected, so the room hasn't been ready yet. And it wasn't so easy to communicate in English with officers at reception, I've already have better experience. But that's not a problem.
The room looks very good and, what was very important for us, has a great bed and bathroom. It's cleaned every day and very precisely. We stayed at Marseille to enjoy the sea, so we took some sand to the room, but OK, it was perfectly cleaned on another morning.
Hotel offers wi-fi connection and, what's great, has a internet corner with wonderful solution (everything is twice cleared after you end your session there). We didn't have anything in the bar, it's probably better to go downtown.
So and we are in location part of the review. Just one world - wonderful. Ibis Mediteranee is in the newer part of town close to the old port. You can't have a bath in sea there, but take a short walk to Vieux Port and you'll see the lovely Cathedral, great view over the sea and panorama of the old port. This is a must. We wanted to go to beach and it's not so problematic to get there, even though the beaches are on opposite side of town. Just go to Joliette metro station (about 5 minutes by foot), take subway and a bus and in 25 minutes you can have a sunbath.
One tip for you - if possible, pay by your credit card. The hotel makes a blocation of the amount on your card and releasing it, it's not so easy. We paid by cash and the blocation of amount stayed there until I phoned my bank clerk and the bank released the money. But I have to admire, that the receptionists were very helpful in this case.
So, to say it shortly. Go ahead to Ibis Marseille Euromediteranee booking. You'll find yourselves living in a great location, in a great room and very good hotel!
