“2nd stop on way to spain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We drove from Laon to Orange on the second leg of our journey to Benidorm. As you get through the peage, turn left and there are several hotels all grouped together. Although the facilities are basic, everything is nice and clean. Bed is comfortable, shower nice and hot. There is a supermarket about 10 minutes walk away so you can fill up with petrol (9 cents per litre cheaper than autoroute), buy freshly made baguettes, beer, wine etc, very handy. Did not eat in the evening here as supermarket had everything we requires, but had breakfast which was ok. Our dog seems to be getting used to sleeping in different rooms each night. all in all, a good stopover point.

I found Premier Classe Orange an average no frills budget hotel. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious. However the shower was on the smaller side and a person with a huge frame would have problems having an adequate shower.

It was clean but unfortunately It was a bit dissapointing that no tea or coffee facilities were offered. The extractor fan in the bathroom worked non stop and there was no way that you could switch it off.

It is very close to the city centre about a ten minutes walk. The service was friendly and two receptionist were helpful and polite. One can have a continental breakfast at an additional cost.

It was not the first time I spent a night in a Premiere Classe. Usually, they have reasonably-priced rooms in convenient location. No luxury, no frills, but clean and functional. This time, the only advantage would be the hotel's proximity to the motorway. On arrival it took me some 15 minutes to find staff to let me enter because their automatic key delivering machine was out of order. Fortunately he was friendly. Then, the room was in a rather bad state: old curtains and dirty plastic floor, small bathroom with cigarette burnt holes in the plastic, strange smell. The bed has a thin mattress and is quite uncomfortable. I hope they'll renovate it soon so it lives up to what you'd expect from Premiere Class. Before this is done, I can only recommend to avoid it!

Room Tip: Take another hotel.

We have stayed in a lot of budget hotels across Europe and this place is the worse of the worse

First we had problems with our room access and the dark haired manager that lives (downstairs at the back) on site was SO RUDE. I could not believe the rudeness that came out of her foul mouth whilst talking to a customer. This woman needs a new career or should not be allowed anywhere near the customer.

This was in direct contrast to the front desk staff who were attentive and really tried hard to look after the guests.

The room was very run down and has really poor lighting (you wont be able to read a book in here without doing yourself an eye injury). The toilet was about to fall off the wall, and the flush was broken, the hook that holds the shower head was broken, the coat hangers were broken and the soap dispensor was empty. Even though you book for 3 people they only give you 2 towels!

The bathroom is tiny. Makes the Etap hotel look 5 star in comparison. You cannot have a shower without the shower curtain sticking to you which is really gross.

The mattress on the top bunk was really good however the mattress on the double bed is terrible and the pillows had been run over by a steamroller I think

The breakfast is good for the price and the wifi worked pretty well too.

There are plenty of other hotels in town offering good rates so my advice is look elsewhere
