“Great location, nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2014

Our walking tour company chose this hotel for us and we were generally pleased. The building, grounds and pool are lovely. Our room had a private terrace with a beautiful view of the hilltop village. Even if you don't have a private terrace, the view from the outdoor terrace and indoor restaurant/breakfast room are equally nice. The bathroom in our large room was really nice. However the hotel desk/breakfast staff seemed too busy to pay individual attention to any guest. The breakfast was good, but at comparable places we were served our coffee, here it was self-serve. Still, overall a very nice hote.

I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. It's a perfect location within minutes of the Gordes center and has the best view around! The proprietors, Alex and Laetitia, are nice once they warm up to you. And they accommodated all of my requests, and were helpful with taxis and recommendations. I think what some people may have noticed (and think is off putting), is that these two pretty much do everything themselves. And that being so busy can sometimes mean they don't have time for everything, even the guests. I'd suggest they get some more help, especially around meal times, so they can focus more on the guests and the business.

The chefs there are marvelous so be sure and have dinner there at least once. I wish the breakfasts were a little more substantial, but it is typical for a lot of the hotels in the area, and not too expensive. It would be nice to have various types of fresh fruit sliced up, and to vary the types of eggs and pastries. I got bored with the breakfast after being there 5 days. They lay it out very nicely though, and take thought and consideration into details.

My room was small but nice. It was decorated for the provence area, and had a separate entrance and bathroom with tub and shower. The shower space was quite cramped. A larger person might have difficulty. I also found the bath/ shower to be slippery, so would suggest they get a bath mat, or put non slip decals down so guests won't fall. I put a towel down in the shower to keep from slipping. I'd also suggest getting do not disturb signs for the doors as most hotels have. The housekeepers walked in on me a few times, which could have been avoided with the signs.

The bed and the bedding was very comfortable- that was a nice thing, having a good nights sleep. And the area is very quiet- but since it's a small place, you can hear the breakfast preparation in the morning, and if there are kids, you can hear them as well. Also, it was a hot time of year, but with the AC in the room, it didn't feel bad at all.

One complaint would be the WIFI service. It needs to be improved. Didn't always work. It constantly was dropped and I had to reconnect and log in many times a day, which is annoying.

Overall I was very happy with this cute and convenient hotel and the nice people who manage it. I hope to return to Gordes again in the future. So many things to see and do in the area.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are probably about the same. If you can spend more, perhaps get one of the lar...

A great location within a short walk of Gordes village centre. A small hotel run by a young couple who need to learn how to please their guests if they want them to return and pass on nice comments. We were booked for five nights but cancelled the fifth night with no refund. Beware of the 7 week cancellation terms of booking. The atmosphere from the owners was less than pleasant - almost as if we were a nuisance. Certainly they missed out on the opportunity of providing us with dinners and drinks because of their manner. They both need to go to charm school and understand about serving guests. There was an adequate breakfast provided but no fruit except for 3 green apples which stayed in the bowl. In an area with an abundance of delicious fruit - it states a 'meaness' which showed up in all aspects of our stay.
The premises were closed early on the Sunday and Monday evenings with no advance warning, or even a mention of "would you like anything more before we close up". Lights off and chairs packed away whilst I was still in the garden area. In my mind a good view is never better than having a good ambience. Rooms were just about adequate in size having high ceilings. Shower room good and everything worked. Two glasses and a room temperature bottle of water provided. There are plenty of other good looking places to stay in the area - take heed and stay elsewhere.

We had just finished a tour of Italy and stayed over to see the Provinces' of Southern France, and had reservations here at Le Mas des Romarins, for 2 nights. It was just wonderful! We were ready to kick back and just relax. The mornings started with a delicious patio breakfast looking over the town of Gordes. The view was beautiful! Sunset was even better! The owners made sure on our last night to fix a special meal for us. Delicious!

Odd themes to room decor and names may have been a warning all is not well here. Rooms adequate size and appointments with a nice pool unfortunately exposed to prevailing wind so too cold even in July to lie on deck after swimming. The staff could on,y be described as cold with an indifferent attitude to guests often no acknowledgment going past the desk and petty rules rules such as no coffee at 2 minutes to 8 as breakfast starts at 8 (even though pot full and was trying to pour it myself!). Some attention to guest needs would go a long way.

The hotel is well maintained however we got given the 'kids dream' room which was small, dark, fall apart (bathroom door kept falling off) and frankly creepy. No adult wants to sleep surrounded by teddy bears and Micky mouse. Really odd way to decorate a hotel room. Could not wait to check out of the room

We stayed in the standard rooms on a room only basis.
The rooms were smart and clean with TV and water provided. Outside was a small terrace with two chairs - perhaps a table should also be provided?
The hotel has lovely grounds and a terrific view of Gordes, which is a ten minute walk away.
Private parking is handy.
