“A beautiful gem in Gordes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

I choose the Chambre D'Hôtes Domaine de L'Enclos based on a review I saw on a site where they gave very good references about it and I found they were totally right. This BB is situated 5 minutes away by car from the incredible village of Gordes and a 5 minutes trip by car to the Cistercian Senanques Abbey which was also a pleasure to visit.

The property is very big and beautiful, with trees etc. and as soon I find the hotel gate and talked to the owner thru a speaker existing on the gate (which is right away from the road). I explained that I had a lot of luggage, and she invited me then to pass with my car a second gate (which is normally closed) to leave my luggage right on the BB front door which was very close to my room. After I've checked-in, the owner gave me all the informations to enter the hotel anytime as well as informations about neighbour villages.

The room I had was new, very clean and comfortable and its size is fine by french standards.

The bathroom is also new and very comfortable and with shower.

The owner helped me a lot on many things like providing the laundry of my clothes for free.

I stayed 3 nights on Domaine de L'Enclos and visit many villages around like Roussillon (also a gem), Menerbes, Rocamadour (another gem but crowded with tourists), L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Robion etc.

Also: there is a private free parking on this BB.

Room Tip: The room downstairs is very big and excellent.

This is a lovely house in the Provencal country next to the quaint village of Gordes. We stayed at one of the ground floor bedrooms for a couple of nights. The bedroom was very clean with crispy sheets, modern decor and has its own terrace at the lavender-rich garden at the back of the house. The gardens, and the view from them, are truly beautiful and provide the perfect context for late afternoon relaxation. The village of Gordes is itself very pretty with some very good restaurants, we had very good fish at the Le Loup Blanc - recommended by the owner. Breakfast could be improved for the price. We would have liked a small fridge with some cold water as it was quite warm in Gordes when we were there. Would definitely come back.

Room Tip: Don't trust Google Maps to find it, go towards the town and you will see a sign for the hotel.

Bonjour,

Located in a beautiful setting and location. The house and our room were immaculate but that is as far as the compliments go. Very disappointed with the reception we received. Spent 10 mins trying to get a response from the front gates. Finally answered but as the property is set back from the road was confusing to find. Very disappointed that the pool was still covered up from the winter and were not shown the sauna. It was only 22 degrees but we consider that is tropical coming from the UK!! Not given a choice about where we would like our breakfast. Very poor choice and we had to wait 15 mins for 2 croissants to be delivered. Only one other couple staying so not difficult to cater for! If you want to feel welcome forget it, if you want a lovely setting its perfect.

Bonjour,

Perfect place to relax and overnight in Gordes as we wandered through Southern France; I really wish we would have planned to stay longer. Very relaxing and welcoming, felt like we had come "home" for a visit. Our host was fantastic as we "guest housed" here, rather than "hotel". Everything was great, would certainly stay here again. j

Room Tip: Downstairs room with the small terrace was great, private, beautiful view and very relaxing.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

We called L'Enclos as we were driving towards Gordes on a wet, drizzly day in April. We were so delighted that they had a place for us. The owner very graciously showed us to a lovely room on the ground floor with its own terrace. We were escaping some very cold spring weather in the north and very much appreciated a warm room with a massive bathtub. The rain cleared up the next morning and we enjoyed sitting out on the terrace in the early spring sunshine. Few people were at the hotel so we felt as if we had the place to ourselves. The whole building has been renovated and decorated in such a delightful way. I sat out in one of the lovely public rooms overlooking a stunning view of the Luberon valley, sipped wine, and worked on my laptop. Heaven!

I recommend this hotel as a fairly reasonable choice in a very expensive area. In the summer it would be paradise. The pool area was very beautiful, but of course no swimming for us in mid April.

Gordes is a very upscale town with some great restaurants. And all around the area, you can enjoy many gorgeous drives. Just point the car and go, then let your GPS find your way back. You pretty much can't take a wrong turn!

Room Tip: Get one of the rooms on the ground floor with its own terrace. Very private and gorgeous.

located in Gordes which is one of the most beautiful villages in France, this is a B&B in a very posh and stylish mansion. The room did not include a TV and it was not possible to activate the heating which was quite a problem in October. The place is a very clean and quiet.

Arrived to find our b&b is in a stunning new estate built exactly in keeping with the rest of the incredibly beautiful Provincial hill town of Gordes. Situated two minutes from the village centre with gorgeous views over the valley, the house is stunning, with beautiful gardens, swimming pool, sauna, living room, dining room, pool table and more. The rooms are simple, yet beautifully furnished and the bathrooms sparkle. Our host Geoff was warm and helpful. Two nights here not enough. Would recommend to everyone. Better than any hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor with a view.
