This was our third visit to this hotel/restaurant. Sadly the wind was howling so no-one could dine on the terrace with its spectacular view. On the first occasion when we were staying in the hotel we were beautifully looked after and had a sublime dining experience. On the second occasion we were completely ignored while other guests, who arrived after us, were danced
around and treated with great courtesy. We decided to try once more as the food is really
delicious. We took some good friends who are great gourmets. Once again we were ignored. We wanted a glass of champagne as an aperitif but had to wait for a long time before anyone came to look after us. We ordered a bottle of champagne. When the wine waiter poured the first two glasses they both contained a large foreign body. This did not appear to be from the cork. We asked him to replace the bottle. We should not have had to do that. He should have suggested it. Finally someone took our order for dinner and eventually they started to serve us. No-one appeared to be in charge. The room was extremely hot which for a 2 star restaurant seems unforgivable in the middle of summer on a not particularly warm day. The dinner, when it came, was really good but
by then it was after 10p.m. So it was 2 hours after our table booking before service began. By then we were all feeling agitated and upset, not in the right relaxed mood to enjoy our evening. I doubt we will return which is sad. I rate the restaurant as very good as I cannot in all honesty rate it as average but I cannot write a rave review.
