“Cheerful staff & wonderful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Welcome, the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Our room had stunning views overlooking the bay and was very comfortable. The hotel is in a wonderful peaceful location, with plenty of restaurants within a short walking distance. We would definitely return when we are back in the region.

Room Tip: Overlooking the bay

Room was very nice although had a slight musty smell to it, we were in room 54. although the room location was great, had sound of running water in walls presumably when guests were using showers etc .Staff was pleasant but our chambermaid was downright nasty and surly. Paying that type of money you would like to know that all of the staff would have been on point. Beware of a charge for beach towel usage. Location was spectacular

I spent three nights at this lovley and cosy hotel in mid October 2012. The location is just right, perfect on the quai of this wonderful little town. I was greeeted by the very nice Magali at the check in, and the equally nice Olivier took care of the check out. All the staff I met was helpful and considerate.

The breakfast was a nice experience, with a great view of the small harbour. We even saw fisherman picking up fresh squid as a little morning show.

A plus for the very comfy beds, something really important.

The locations is great for excursions. Don´t miss to either walk or bike around Cap Ferrat, and to visit Villa Ephrussi de Rotschild there ( [--] )

I will definately try to return to Hotel Welcome and to Villefranche-sur-Mer!

We went to South of France for our honeymoon. We were looking for a location that is less crowded, romantic, amazing views, good food and wine. Villefranche - Sur-Mer is a very romantic town. It is located in the center very near Nice, Eze, St. Paul Du Vance, Grasse, Cap De Antibes, etc. You can rent boats right in front of this hotel. Since we were on our honeymoon, we got a room upgrade with a balcony overlooking the water. The rates were a little expensive especially we went on a high season July but it was worth it! I wouldn't recommend any hotels in Villefranche- Sur-Mer. Service was fantastic! Everyone was friendly and accommodating! They appreciate it if you make an effort speaking French which is not that difficult.

Our second stay at Welcome Hotel - and again we did not want to leave! The rooms are each full of charm and character, very clean and well maintained (including some recently updated rooms), nice amenities, comfortable beds. The views over the Mediterranean and the port are breathtaking.
It is the "4-star" service and the friendliness of all staff that is truly remarkable - from booking assistance with the reservation, to the fabulous front desk staff (Olivier is classic concierge), to the breakfast and bar service (Axel et al). The petit dejeuner (breakfast) is superb (the raspberry tarte still makes my mouth water) and the setting over the harbor exceptional.
Once you stay at Hotel Welcome, you will always want to return

Room Tip: 3rd, 4th 5th floors have wonderful views

This hotel looks stunning on the web site and it is indeed in a gorgeous position overlooking the bay of villefranche.
We booked the cabin suite as it looked so sweet on the web site but at 354 euro's a nigth we felt after our stay that it was overpriced for what it was. The bathroom was tiny with a very feeble shower with a door that kept falling off it's hinges and little water pressure. The toilet was a minute little room right beside the bed head which felt completely airless and often smelt unpleasant. The balcony which had a stunning view had only two chairs and a small table, no loungers or cushions and was right next to a large outdoor generator which also smelt and hummed all the time.
In the bar we were charged 10 euro's for a sambucca! this had cost us 3 in Italy at the most and breakfast was 17 euro's for a continental version which although lovely and very fresh was again overpriced for the amount we were getting. Maybe we were spoilt by our previous week in Italy as the surounding restuarants were all pretty expensive and not of a very high standard at all so this could be what this area is like permanently.

The staff were polite but seemed very uninterested in us as guests unless we were offering to spend more money and did little to make us feel at home or happy on our stay.

Room Tip: choose a room here for the view but not the size and do not expect luxurious fittings

We recently stayed for 6 nights at the Welcome Hotel. We have a great time there the hotel has an amazing location with all rooms having a balcony looking out to sea. Situated close to everything that Villefranche has to offer the hotel itself is fantastic. The reception staff were all super friendly and nothing was ever a problem for them to help us with. We had an almost 2yr old with us and all the staff always found time to speak and have fun with him. Our room was on the 4th floor and was a little smaller than we expected however this was the only disappointment we had with this hotel. The view from our balcony was beautiful and we are breakfast there every morning and enjoyed a glass of wine late in the evening. The bar staff were also so nice and it was a nice place to end the evening with a late drink. No hesitiation recommending this hotel

Room Tip: Our room was really nice however a little small for a couple with one toddler.
