“great view”

this appartment has the most spectacular views. it overlooks the whole bay and although it is above shops and restaurants it is very quiet and peaceful. The owner was kind enough to let our dog stay and he is a very large german shepherd(our dog , not the owner). The only reason i am not giving it 5 rating is that although facilities are ok, it could be updated, i.e outside furniture and kitchen. All in all we loved it here though.

“Simply the Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

You are reading this because you are considering this studio apartment for your stay on the French Riviera – well, if you are a couple and you wish to stay in the best value accommodation in one of the best places in the world, look no further.
We have stayed in No 7 for the past 3 years and have already booked for next year. Our regular month long vacations in Europe (from Australia) will now always include at least 2 weeks in this superb studio apartment -we love it.
Apartment 7 is one of eight in a 1930’s(?) building all with balconies overlooking the beautiful bay of Villefranche sur Mer, which is literary only 20m from the front door. Despite its small size, the studio is perfect for a holidaying couple – it would be very tight with 3 people, but the owner also lets out No 4 and No 8.
Furnishings are simple – what you see in the photos is what you get. What you don’t see are plenty of cupboard space in the main room and in the very good ensuite, reverse cycle air-conditioning, beach umbrellas and mats (very handy for the wonderful SANDY beach only 500m away), well appointed kitchen and fast Wi-fi (however this year was not as good as last year).
Put simply, we love this place so much that we wouldn’t go to Europe without staying here - the people are friendly, the studio is comfortable, the village is quite and the surrounds are never ending.
There is a handy supermarket in the old town, you can cook you own meals (hob and microwave), you can travel widely and cheaply. The no 80 bus passes the front door (suggest a 7 day pass) and connects with the 100 (Nice, Monaco and Menton), 82 (Eze) etc. and the rail station is only 300m away – perfect. When you do “eat out”, there are about 20 good restaurants/cafes in the old town area to choose from - suggest you see Ben at Les Garcons and plenty of bars – try Chez Net.
Apart from above, other places which can be easily visted include Cannes, Antibes and Ventimiglia (by train), St Paul de Vence, Cap d’Ail and La Turbie (by bus) and of course walk to Beaulieu, St Jean and cap Ferrat (past Nellcote).
Apart from the great views from the balcony and the very convenient location this studio has a wonderful and hard to explain "feeling" about it. It is always sad to leave but there is next year!!
Tina Turner sang "simply the best" she should know, she owns a house up the hill.

“Great location.....but”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Just recently stayed in unit number 8 for the first week in June. The location is none better than any unit in this lovely town. However the unit had not been adequately cleaned and the furniture was like a college dormatory. With a little investment in bedding and cleaning this would help greatly. The town and location near the train station makes day trips a snap. The wifi works only at certain times of the day, issues which can be fixed easily. Margarite has a beautiful property she needs a little more experience as a property renter.

“Great Place with stunning view over the bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2011 for a stay in September 2011

We came for the second time this year to this marvellous place, this time again for 10 nights. The view from the balcony over the bay with hundreds of sailing boats is wonderful and romantic, and as we could not go out for dinner because of our toddler, we were able to eat dinner on our balcony every night, so we had a great time here and had one of the best places of the village I believe. The kitchen is fully furnished, with a microwave with oven function and coffee maker. It is great to have a clohes washer, so we could leave some of the kid´s clothes at home - drying the clothes on the balcony in summer time is no problem. Moreover, the appartment is very close to the train station, and Monaco (approx.15 min) and Nice (approx.7 min) are not far at all. We will come back for sure - this is a real insiders´tip!!!
