“A simple elegant hotel in a delightful small town, with exceptionally helpful owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for its excellent locationand most helpful owners and hotel staff. Pierre and Natalie went out of their way to help us after our car broke down leaving us stranded for 5 days. After our previous experience at an earlier hotel this was a wonderful stay. The hotel is recently modernised and the rooms are air conditioned and completely quiet. It is ideally placed looking onto the lively market square and just a few steps outside the pedestrianised old walled town of Vence with its narrow winding streets, its gushing fountains, its famous chapel designed by Matisse, and its many restaurants. We made many delightful excursions into the countryside and nearby hill towns. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: As this hotel is in a traditional Vence town house the rooms are not enormous but they are perfectly...

You simply must try this quaint hotel. It is run by husband and wife, Pierre & Nathaly. They are friendly, helpful and speak great English! Their hotel rooms are of typical European size (adequate room, small shower, nice bidet) and clean, clean, clean. We were impressed by their "green" initiatives and their love of Guns 'n Roses. HAHA

The hotel is right on Le Grande Jardin. We watched children play, old French men trying to outdo each other in Bocce ball, and couples walk arm in arm. It was magical. We had a corner room so we could see the gates into the Old City. It was delighful. We will definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to come to Provence.

We felt like family. Thank you, Nathalie and Pierre!

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of May. Natalie and Pierre were both charming helpful and efficient hosts. The hotel faces the town square - bustling with people and markets, and just outside the original mediaeval city, fascinating in itself, pedestrianised and with a number of really excellent restaurants.
Our room was not big, but very comfortable, with excellent en-suite bathroom.
The typical French continental breakfast were quite sufficient, with fresh rolls, croissants and delicious yoghurt. Hot drinks - free- were available from a machine for 24 hours - the best machine coffee that we have tasted.
It was great to stay somewhere away from the crowds of the Cote d'Azur - most of the time hearing only French spoken!

La Victoire continues to be my favorite hotel. Twice a year I bring a small group of writers for one week of writing. For the last three years I've chosen La Victoire, Natalie and Pierre are always helpful and makes sure everyone feels at home! The rooms are small, the beds are great and the bathrooms are very adequate. I'm looking forward to another week in October 2012.

Room Tip: Try it out, it's next door to the old town, close to great walks in the forest, and near public...

I was in Hotel Victoire a few months ago. The lady which is the owner of the hotel is very nice but I didn't liked the 2 cats who walked all over the kitchen. The rooms are not great, far too small for the price and the view is boring, just buildings and a park full of dust. As a conclusion, I think that Hotel Victoire is very expensive for what it offers.

I do not think the Victoire street café has been mentioned. Right outside the hotel and on maybe the busiest corner in Vence, you can sit and people-watch as long as you want. Only a few steps to the old town and to the Grand Jardin. Perfect location for an authentic French street cafe.

The Hotel La Victoire is set in the beautiful town of Vence and we have just fallen in love with it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Natalie, the owner is a real sweetheart. She was extremely friendly and made us feel so very welcome when we arrived. She assisted us with our luggage and was also so helpful with parking for our car. She speaks impeccable English. It was also lovely to walk in the old town with all its history and dine at the quaint restaurants. The bus from Vence to Monaco or Nice for only 1 euro is a bargain! We highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely stay there again should we go back to Vence. Natalie we will never forget your smile. Thankyou for making our stay so memorable and for being such a honey bunch. Hennie and Mary Schoeman Somerset West Cape Town
