“Perfect in the hills of southern France!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

I can't say enough about this place. It's located off of a winding road in the beautiful gorges and mountains of the area outside a cute little hill town which has a Wednesday market, and is about a 10 minute drive the other way from a candy and crystallized flower maker which gives a great tour (you can ask for English tours). The rooms are so pretty and comfortable and there is a little table and chairs just outside each door. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was wonderful with the typical yogurts, cereals and cheeses, but also meats, and eggs made to order - just ask! It was served inside one cool day, but then outside the other days overlooking the pool, flowers and view down to the Mediterranean. Beautiful! We also had fun using the bocce ball court. The best part though was how Veronique and Stefaan made us feel right at home the minute we arrived and how they were always available in case we needed anything (which we didn't!) Nothing would have been too much for them. For example, I said I had never tasted a specific French item, and 10 minutes later, there was Stefaan surprising me with it, presented on a tray! (Merci Stefaan!) One of the best experiences of our 3 days there was the Table d'hotes where anyone who is staying there can have dinner with the hosts. They cooked an amazing dinner and ate with the other 6 of us who had signed up. It was wonderful getting to know them and having an authentic home-style French meal. It was really hard to leave this little paradise! Tip - when you arrive, there is a button to push on the left of the entrance to let them know you are waiting by the gate.

My new husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in May 2013. What a wonderful place! Peaceful, beautiful, relaxing, comfortable, and great location. You can drive to Nice, Cannes, Monte Carlo, Monaco, and the many charming villages in the mountains within an hour. Perfect day trips! Veronique and Stefan are wonderful hosts...take advantage of signing up for a dinner there. You will have a lovely meal and great company. The breakfasts are full of many options. Absolutely worth staying here.

We had time for a short break flying to Nice. We already knew the village of Tourette sur Loup from a previous trip and wanted to stay nearby. Le Mas des Cigales is quaint, picturesque and secluded but with attention to detail which makes for a very relaxing stay. Clean comfortable rooms with air conditioning and a very comfortable bed. The pool area is just perfect and breakfast is served outside on the terrace. We even played tennis for the first time in thirty years, fortunately much of the court is shaded by trees as it was very warm even in early September. Admittedly the old farmhouse is situated up a fairly longish track, about 2/3 k outside the village, driving along here in a hired car is not for the faint hearted and eating out means the driver has to go carefully / abstain from alcohol. Local restaurants are excellent but you need to book for popular places like Chez Grandmere. The hosts are so welcoming and we will recommend this place highly to friends.

We have just come back from a wonderful stay at Le mas de cigales.

We originally booked for 3 nights but we were so relaxed and enjoying ourselves luckily we were able to stay a forth! The pool area is fantastic and the owners really leave you alone to relax. You can help yourself to wine whenever you feel like it and you even have your own large fridge if you want to stock up on supplies. We had our own home made smoked salmon salad one night to save costs.

The house is a wonderful 25 minute walk from the picturesque Tourette sur loup and very near Cannes, nice, Antibes and grasse. I'd recommend a car but another couple staying didn't have one and they got on ok.

One of the nights the guests all had a home cooked meal and it was lovely and we all got to know the others guests. The owners Steffan and Veronique are Belgian and their laid backness is really reflected in the way they run their bed and breakfast. They are there when you need them but not around and hassling you when you just want peace and quiet. Their son also makes a mean cocktail... And only 5 euros!

We wouldn't hesitate to stay again! Dan and amanda.

We stayed here recently. The location is very good but you will need a car for sure. Tourrette itself is delightful!! You can very comfortably walk in from the B&B - but there are some hills - but this would be no problem if you enjoy walking. Tourrettes has lovely winding streets and plenty of places to eat - for all tastes! The B&B itself is strictly that - the rooms are very clean and certainly spacious and warm - our room was as promised for sure. The rooms are situated around the pool - which is lovely and creates a very pleasant atmosphere - but beware if you have small children - it would not be suitable as it is open. The hot tub didn't seem to work - but then, we didn't ask either. The only drawback for this B&B, is that there is no internal space to sit other that the small breakfast area - just one large circular table and chairs (plenty space outside) - . Breakfast is very much a very tight continental one. Bread yes/ 1 croissant each/ cheese if you want/ yogurt and you are offered eggs. The best part is the lovely jam! The couple are lovely and pleasant and nice to deal with. Make out your itinerary as there are no suggestions given - up to yourself. There are leaflets available. The Tennis courts look good if you want to give it a go.

Room Tip: Look for the room at either end of the building for more privacy

We stayed six days in last part of October. The setting is beautiful with views down to the coast. The room, "Agapanthe" was clean and comfortable and had a fine grand lit: excellent sleep quality! Bathroom fine with bathtub (a regular shower would be better, though).
The garden and the pool area, too, like a dream! The breakfast was rich and fine quality - with perfectly boiled eggs (4,5 minutes!). Last but not least the hosts, Veronique and Stefaan are very welcoming and helpfull and do everything to make you feel at home with a fine sense of being personal but not private. A wholehearted recommendation!
