“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2008

Six of us stayed in two suites at the Mistralee for 3 nights in June and we couldn't speak highly enough of it. The hotel itself is beautifully done out and has its own style of old school glamour - cool, chic but without being OTT. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable, spacious and stylish. The staff were fantastic, v friendly, they mainly all spoke excellent English and were very accommodating to all the demands made by a group of English girls! Also, the location of the hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of St Tropez. Highly recommended.

My girlfriends and I just returned from St tropez for my bachelorette party we stayed at the suite at La Mistralee and it was an amazing experience!

The hotel is very beautiful and chic and on arrival the smell is very welcoming and relaxing. The lounge area is really cool with lots of interesting art and painting and the pool area....gosh!

With 3 girls sharing the suite, we still didnt have enough clothes and shoes to fill the wardrobes.....our room was v spacious.

The location is absolutley perfect it is walking distance to anything or anywhere you want to go to (in town) and the hotel can always arrange a car service to take you to the pampelonne (if you are not driving)

One of the best thing about La Mistralee was the staff. They are v attentive and also very helpful. I highly recommend it!

We stayed here for 4 nights in early June 2007 and enjoyed our experience a lot. It is centrally located, walking distance to the harbor, the shops (2 minute walk to Hermes) and accessible from the main road leading into town. The hotel, a former mansion, is trendy / chic, and has 3-4 living spaces to hang out in. The property itself, with the garden and the pool, is beautiful and a tranquil contrast to the hustle and bustle outside.
The staff was very friendly, and super helpful. They made reservations for us for anywhere and everywhere we wanted, including Club 55 for lunch (3 times) and Spoon Byblos (Alain Ducasse's restaurant) with little notice.
We stayed in the Hemingway room, in the back cottage, as we wanted more privacy and an outdoor patio. The cottage itself was okay. A bit dark and the furniture is a bit dated. But loved the privacy and the patio, which in the end is why we chose it. And it was quiet.

I would absolutely recommend this place. Although I would stay in the main house the next time. Do ask for a room facing the pool and the garden, not the street, and on the higher floor.

We stayed at La Mistralee for three days at the end of May 2005 and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The place is really a luxury villa converted into a boutique hotel -- quiet and leafy (stately, tall palms, terrific Mediterreanean fruit on short, beautiful trees), and has a lovely, quaint, lived-in appearance with a huge, beautifully done-up living room full of squashy sofas. The staff speaks excellent English and is wonderfully warm and helpful (none of the plasticky stiffness of the big-chain hotels!). Our favourite was Olivier, the energetic young man-about-the-house, whose smile never fades. The poolside restaurant offers fare that is fairly basic, but what the hell, which fool goes to St Tropez to sit and eat by the pool! (Especially when it takes less than two minutes to walk down to the harbour!!!) We'd read on the Web about some problems some people had after the hotel's management changed hands some three years ago, but things seem to have settled down nicely, because we had no problems at all. Our advice to you: go and stay at La Mistralee by all means... it's unlikely you'll regret it! (Just a word of caution: request a room towards the back of the hotel; the young men on noisy motorbikes racing down the street late in the evening can be a bit of a pain for people staying in rooms facing the front.)

In fact La Mistralee's management has changed again and is no longer the same than La Bastide Rouge, the hotel was re decorated, it's very nice, you should try !

I made a booking for this year (May 2003) at this hotel having stayed there last year and enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The hotel took my deposit and then ownership changed hands early this year. They subsequently refused to return my deposit. I have since discovered that the original owner also owns La Bastide Rouge also in St. Tropez. Despite numerous efforts direct and via the credit card company I have still not managed to get my deposit back. I would therefore warn anyone against attempting to book either at the La Mistralee or La Bastide Rouge. They do not appear to be under honest management.
