“Spectacular views and quality all around.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012 via mobile

Spent 4 nights here and loved every moment.

Very attentive staff with big smiles. Nothing compares with the views from every location.

The take you to town in their own shuttle on demand.

Already stayed at la Messardiere in 1994 and 2000. After my most recent stay, I'm wondering why I've been to other hotels in St Tropez and I'm sure I'll won't stay in any other hotel from now on.
Deluxe room was spacious. Bathroom is ok but nothing special.
Valet, bellman and frontdesk staff are very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast and lunch at the restaurant were both excellent. The view is simply amazing.
Fitness is OK, indoor and outdoor pools are both very nice. Shuttle service to St Tropez is very useful.
Only problem was the beach. Avoid Tropezina, I think any other beach might offer better service.

This was our 5th stay at La Messardiere and again: Everything was absolutely top notch and what is to be expected of a 5*(plus) hotel.

Our room, a Gulf Suite in the annexe, was superb. Wonderful beds, two flatscreen TV's, a nice terrace with loungers, a table and chairs, a big bathroom with double sinks, jacuzzi bath and large separate shower. Top of the bill amenities; big fluffy towels (changed twice daily of course), bathrobes and slippers.

Service is outstanding: From the very knowledgable concierges, who are able to make reservations in restaurants which are fully booked, to the staff at the reception desk, always with a smile on their face and adressing the guests by their name, to the restaurant staff who understand what Service (with a capital S) means.
Housekeeping is of a very high standard.

Twice we had dinner in the restaurant and both times the food was excellent. The Menu du Marché changes daily and offers very good quality for money.Of course, weather permitting, there is al fresco dining on the terrace with undisturbed views over the Bay of Pampelonne
The (young) sommelier made some very good and surprising wine suggestions: Hat off, also because of the fact that he did not suggest (as is often the case) the more expensive wines on the list.
-Continental- buffet breakfast (included in the roomprice) is excellent with an abundance of fresh fruits and fruitsalad.
There is a very nice pool with lunch-restaurant and bar and poolstaff as well as the waiters in the bar are again excellent!

The hotel with beautiful extensive grounds, is located outside St. Tropez on a hill with magnificent views over the Bay of Pampelonne.
There is a 24/7 shuttle available and the navette takes you right to the centre of town and picks you up at the same location. Never did we have to wait for more than 10 minutes for transportation, which is free of charge.

Free WiFi throughout the hotel of course and two computers with printers are available for the guests in the main lobby.

Of course, this is St. Tropez and prices are high. But La Messardiere is certainly value for money; excellent and friendly staff, who are committed to making you feel welcome and at home; excellent accomodations and an exceptional restaurant.

The only very small point of attention is the choice of music which can be heard all day and night throughout the main building, be it in the lobby, the restaurant or even in the lavatories: A bit Moroccon/Arabian, out of place in our opinion. No criticism, but a point of attention!

Should you look for a superb hotel in a beautiful location with topnotch service, I strongly recommend La Messardiere.
We will certainly be back!

We were regular visitors to the hotel 10-15 years ago but then the service got very poor.We took a chance now and were pleasantly surprised.they made you very welcome, had a nice big suite and the food was good, although we ate mainly in the village.the only fault was the recommendation by the concierge for the escales restaurant.this turned out to be terrible as reported under escales restaurant.next time I will go back to the Messardiere.

This Hotel is by far the very best I and my family have ever stayed in. It is quite expensive but worth it. The Chateau is beautiful, intimate and your stay is so peaceful! The staff are helpful, very friendly remember who you are and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The accommodation is great whichever room you decide to book all rooms would be quiet, housekeeping is of a very high standard.
Continental Breakfast is excellent also, and the standard of the menu and food in the Restaurant of an evening was exceptional, again one of the best meals I have.
Views from St Tropez are beautiful as the Chateau is high above the town, really good to have the shuttle 24 hours to the town also.
If you want to have a special break whether it is with your partner or your family (I would recommend that your children are teenagers at least) this is the place to stay.

I absolutely love this hotel. It is a little bit away from the main St Tropez area, but that is what makes it wonderful to me because you can get away from the people and relax here. Our room was a "sea view" and had a patio area where we tanned so it was nice to have that extra room. Also, the service is amazing. The people in the reception are very nice and the concierge are wonderful as well. The only thing I would say is I wish the indoor pool was heated as it's a bit chilly and not really relaxing but I guess that's a personal preference. The room was decorated nicely and very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in September 2010, having had a disasterous journey down. This was a slice of heaven.
We had a suite with the most amazing views. Our baby girl had her own room, which made life easier. The service was exceptional, and the staff were always helpful. They only had 2 highchairs, but that did not detract from the luxurious breakfast buffet on offer. Our daughter enjoyed it as much as we did. The food generally was amazing, and the room service great.

The pools were stunning, and though its a short drive from St Tropez and the beaches, if we had the cash again we wouldn't hesitate to stay here. You get what you pay for, and for us it gave us peace of mind, and a wonderful memory of the holiday.
