“good food - poor service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

the terrace under the tree is beautiful and quiet, the food from the menu is tasty with fresh ingredients at a reasonable price for st tropez. But the service is poor and pushy. When we arrive we had to wait 5 minutes at the entrance 4 waiters looking at us without saying hello, only the hostess can place you. ok but they can say good evening. the waitress give you a list of dishes not on the menu without telling you the prices and that is for a reason they cost twice as much as the ones on the menu. the wine guy whatever you command will advise to take a wine at a higher price (he does it at all the tables i heard him) the waitress poor you the mineral water and even the bottle is not yet empty encourage you to order another one. We understand the summer is short but to much is to much.

“Watch out with the waiters”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2011 via mobile

Nice place,good food but.......
The waiters try to sell their suggestions from the chef at extremely high prices ! When asking the bill they friendly insist on a good tip! A good resto if you can withstand the waiters intentions.

“Consistently great place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2011

Third visit to The Strand and to keep it short, everyone in the group had an absolute great experience.

Food, service and ambiance was as great as it has been on previous occasions.

One of the best places in St Tropez.

“Consistently one of the best restaurants in St Tropez”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2011

My wife and I have had the pleasure of visiting St Tropez on several different occasions over the years and from these visits we have opted to make Strand a place we visit every time for a romantic dinner.

Strand offers consistently excellent French cuisine. On our most recent visit, I had the noix St. Jacques and it was a culinary highlight of the whole trip. The food is always well-prepared and the menu offers many delicious choices. Aside from the great meal, the atmosphere is charming and romantic. Many of the tables are outside in a courtyard with a leaning, twisting tree providing the centerpiece. Be sure to eat in this courtyard as they are the best tables in the house. Strand is best for dinner, timed as the sun goes down. Starting in daylight and finishing in nightfall is a real treat.

Service is very good with attentive waiters and we have never had any complaints. In fact, I have found the waiters at The Strand to be especially willing to engage in conversation.

In all, The Strand is a great place to take a special someone. It is off the main road a bit and feels more relaxed than some of the hustle of the port-- as such it is a great place to start the night before the descending on the insanity that is St Tropez after midnight.

“Don't Order a Chateaubriand, a glass of Rosé or a Dessert”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2011

It was our second visit and we didn't remember what we experienced one year ago. Thus we repeated our mistake: the waiter offered us a Chateaubriand - without saying that it will be 100.-€ for two of us. Ok, it is a 700g piece. And delicious. But there is a Filet Rossini You could order for 36.-€ each.
In the beginning service is perfect - but as soon as it get's crowded they are loosing control. We wanted to order a dessert - but noone asked what we had choosen. We asked twice - no reaction. Then we decided to pay. I remembered that this took quite a while last time. This time our bill came after asking once and after 30 seconds. Seems that they don't need to make more business as soon as they sold a Chateaubriand AND two glasses of Rosé. The two glasses of Rosé where 24.-€ a bottle of it would have been 35.-€.
