Based on other reviews we were prepared for the uneven service. We had four different waiters and the host serve us. Two, including the bartender, were friendly and helpful. One waiter was rude, but we didn't let it distract us from the fun experience. The decor with soaring ceilings and Moroccan lamps was stunning. We would have preferred to be seated in the courtyard, but that requires reservations made 4-5 days in advance.
We started with the Bloody Salama cocktail which we LOVED. We split the appetizer selection ("entree" in French) which included red bell pepper salad, eggplant salad, lentil salad, fried pastry triangles with some sort of filling and tubular pastries with minced chicken covered in cinnamon and sugar - delicious! This was the highlight of the meal. As main courses we had the chicken, olive and lemon tagine (rather boring and devoid of flavor) and the vegetable cous cous (quite tasty especially when sprinkled with cumin from a dish on the table). Wonderful mint tea was our dessert. The meal ended with a waiter bringing rose water to rinse our fingertips.
The restaurant opens at 8 pm, with most diners arriving around 10 pm. The lively atmosphere along with great cocktails and appetizers made for a fun evening out on the town. As in all places in St Tropez, wear your trendiest resort attire and check out what everyone else is wearing. Bon App.
