“Very close to the sea”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

This hotel is indeed close to the sea.
It is a 4 star hotel.. But honestly.. It should be more as a 3 star...
Possitive points.. :
Very friendly personel. The reception was excelent.
Slighly negativ points:
The room was small... (But at a nice price).
Some details in the bathroom was not up to 4 star level.
Breakfast was "Ok"..
The windows poorly isolated.. We heard the night life of St Raphael all night.. :-(
The best thing is that the hotel is practicaly at the plage..
Would I go there again? Maybe.. As I wrote, the price is fine.

Room Tip: Do not take a room if not with view to the sea:.. Its noicy facing town...

We had a good week in that hotel in the middle of September. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is OK (in case you don't like it there are many caffes and restaurants nearby). Location is good - the beach is just across the road. However stock up some ear pluggs (we had to buy them). The noise of a beach cleaning machine every morning around 4:30am was very annoying... I guess if you're very sensitive to noise it's better to spend some time walking to the beach and stay in a hotel on a quiet little street (away from rubbish bins), if you can find one...

we stayed at the continental from wed to sat in late august. we got a dark room with a small window that we could not change. the service is very good. for the weekend we recommend NOT to take a room facing the sea/promenade as we could hardly sleep with party folk screaming in front of the hotel until 5:30 am.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks with our 14 year old son and some friends of ours. I checked out the Trip Advisor reports before I booked and noticed that a few people mentioned that this hotel is in a noisy location. Having stayed on the busiest summer fortnight of the year, I can honestly say that this is a very quiet hotel, particularly considering it is situated right opposite the main beach with many hotels, restaurants and bars very close by. It is is extremely well run, clean and very comfortable (love the excellent air con). The staffs are brilliant and very quick to respond to requests and the rooms were spotlessly clean . Good English is spoken and the breakfasts are extremely good if a bit pricy, but in any case are optional. There is no bar or restaurant, but with the abundance of these very close by, this suited us perfectly. The beach is literally over the road and for drivers, there is a very secure underground car park with more than ample spaces. Overall, I would have no hesitation in using this hotel again and our friends share this view.

Room Tip: We stayed on side elevation which was very quiet.

We booked into this hotel having been blown off a nearby campsite. We were offered a choice of sea view rooms one with windows virtually all the way round. If you opened them you felt like you were on the beach.

The room was huge and spotlessly clean with a separate toilet and bathroom. The bed was comfy with duvets and great pillows. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful. Parking was secure and underground - important as our car was full of camping gear and we didn't want to leave it on the street - and it was free!

We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as there were so many other places to choose from outside.

I can understand it could get a bit noisy in peak season as its next to a couple of bars but this wasn't a factor for us. The views were to die for and considering the position in the town it was extremely good value.

We only had a half day and an overnight here on a tour, so don't take this review as definitive.
Modern, but with an attractive entrance, overlooking one of the harbours, near the town centre, all in all it did everything we wanted.
If I want to stay in St. Raphäel again, I would check availability at this one first.
