“Unspoilt medieval village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Despite being a tourist attraction, St Paul de Vence retains its character as development apears to have been very limited. A great place to while away a couple of hours down the little streets ahd alley ways.

“Definitely make it part of your trip to the Cote D'Azur”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

This is a great side trip. Only about 30 ,minutes from Nice. Easy to find. The underground parking was only about 11 euros for 4 hours. A great walled city with nice art galleries and shops. Easily can spend a couple of hours here. Had a nice salad on a terrace with a view.

“Hilltop walled town with great views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

Make sure you put St Paul in your GPS - St Paul de Vence does not register! Have visited a number of times. Quaint walled hilltop village that has two good hotels and is commercialised for the tourist industry. One carpark at bottom of old town which is always packed. Small shops seeling art and brick a brac but go for the views and history. If you eat outside walled town cheaper than inside walls. Well worth a visit but don't be tempted to spend money in shops - tourist traps!

“Busy but a must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Don't park in the main car park, it's very expensive, easier to park nearby. The place is heavily developed and very busy, but you can't visit this are and not see it.

“Loveliest spot on the Côte d'Azur”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

We traveled all up and down the Côte d'Azur from the Italian border through Monaco to Cannes (during the film festival) with a week-long stay in Nice. No place did we find lovelier than St. Paul de Vence.

The walled city itself can be pretty well explored in an hour or less, plus any time spent in restaurants and shops. True, it's mostly boutiques, but if that's not your thing, the view and the tour of a medieval walled town are themselves worth the trip. Plus there's the more modern town itself, one of our favorite places.

Although lots of the rich and famous have lived (and often died) there, it's very accessible, and doesn't have the exclusive (nor the touristy) feel of more famous spots such as Capri and Monaco. It's much more relaxed.

We went in mid-May, and the weather was nearly perfect.
