“Fantastic Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

The staff do really make this hotel . Perfect English and will help with any request even when you cannot get a taxi ...
Sainte Maxime is very limited on taxis so worth booking in advance if you don't have a car. Location, 15 minute walk to harbour, restaurants and shops. Take the ferry to St Tropez for the day for the experience . Relax by the pool or head to the beach. Suitable for friends, couples and families . Rooms are small. try to get a balcony if you can. The hotel is quite in the evenings

We were surprise to chance upon this hotel, not expecting a Best Western to look this good. The room is spacious for our family of 4. A big king size bed and a big single bed. Clean room, big bathroom. It has a quality of a 4 - 5 stars hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, speak English. We extended our stay to 4 nights because comparing the hotel price to those in St. Tropez, this hotel is of good value. The hotel is very close to a beautiful clean beach, 5 mins away. 5 mins walking distance to the city centre of St. Maxime with lots of restaurants and shops. We dine one time at the hotel, supposingly a 'Pink Party', all guests were encouraged to dress in pink. We were expecting some dancing music or some event, but there was nothing. Food was average.

Great location (easy walk to town), nice sea view from our room, excellent pool. Room was small but clean... a bit tight for our boys in the bunk beds. Nice courtyard and restaurant area. Good value overall.

Stayed there last weekend for just one night. Absolutely delightful! The rooms are lovely. We didn't eat there but did have drinks in the bar. What makes this hotel special is the staff.

This hotel should definitely be 4 star. We will be returning.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and didn't want to leave!
Our room was modern and clean if somewhat small. The bathroom was the best of our trip so far (we have been travelling 3 months and stayed at numerous hotels). It had a fantastic, BIG, shower head and was decorated in mosaic tiles. Such a luxury compared to some of the other European bathrooms we had!
There is a lovely garden where you can sit and read a book as well as a medium sized swimming pool with deck chairs around it.
The restaurant and bar area are really nice but the food is a bit average. I would probably recommend eating dinner in town - slightly cheaper and better quality. The breakfast was good though and worth paying for.
The only downside to this hotel is that is about a 10 minute walk into saint maxime itself. It's a really easy walk along the water though so don't let this put you off. It is worth the inconvenience of being slightly further away from the action.
We were travelling with a car and easily found parking on a street nearby which was free. Love that!
I'd recommend this hotel as a base to explore both Saint Maxime and St Tropez. I'd also recommend staying in Saint Maxime over Tropez. It's an easy ferry ride across the water and is nice to leave the glitz and glammer (and expensive food & drinks!) of Tropez behind at the end of the day.

Room Tip: Pay the little bit extra to have a room facing the water.

It was late for France, 7 p.m.. We had no reservation. I didn't want to spend as much as their last remaining superior quality room, (200€) so they reduced it 20% to my budget, on the spot with a smile. When we looked at the room it had twin beds, we prefer a double. No problem they said. Two minutes later a young chambermaid appeared and did very complicated things with very, very thick mattresses and a smile. Five minutes later we sat on and tried the bed. We would never have guessed that at its base were two singles. It gave us a great night's sleep.

The view from the private balcony, large enough to contain a table and chairs and two very substantial sun loungers, was primarily of the open pool, with the sea beyond. Even in mid April, it was obvious that both the pool area and the terrace were sun-traps. The siting of the hotel, just a couple of hundred metres into the quiet residential area, gives you a peaceful night but leaves you just a short pleasant stroll from the busy town centre and all its attractions.

The room, its furnishings and the bathrooms were opulent and well worth the original price. I don't suppose they have many un-booked rooms in the Summer but when I'm in the area, I'll be making a phone call to see. I'll be quite happy to meet the full price.

Slight downside? Parking is on the quiet residential roads. This is almost impossible to avoid in Town Centre positions.

Room Tip: Take the highest price room they can offer you. It will be great value.

Spent 2 nights here in late May after booking room in previous September. Booked hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and was probably a bit disappointed. While staff were very friendly on arrival after that did not seem greatly interested in helping with much. Not sure how staff get such glowing ratings - perhaps we strong a bad few days. Room was on first floor so only has average ocean view. Booking so far in advance thought we might have been given a better room. Room was very small and with 2 large suitcases very little space to move around. Breakfast is very average - boiled eggs and bread. Would hate to be here in peak season as little car parking. Coming from Australia still struggle with people smoking around food in what is designated as "open air restaurant". Good location & a pleasant stroll into Sainte-Maxime

Room Tip: Ask for a room on Level 2 or 3 with an ocean view.
