“If only it could get the Californian vibe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

This is a truly great hotel, there really is nothing to fault about it. The staff are friendly, the food great, the service, the funicular to the pool. It's utterly charming and wonderful.

The only problem and it is a problem is you feel that you have to be on best behaviour and a bit formal. I have no idea why because the staff are actually very relaxed and chilled out. somehow though the 'grandeur' of the place makes everyone a little stiff. If it could only get some Miami cool or California vibe like the Beverley Hills where people treat the hotel as there home then I'd go back. However I just didn't feel relaxed whislt we were there because my wife wasn't. It's just marginally uptight and needs to loosen up. No idea how maybe smores in the evening and more relaxed outdoor dining instead of fine dining. I don't know.

Even if you only go once you should it's a great place just have a few drinks to chill out and say hello to the person next to you. You're on vacation ;-)

Eveything about the hotel was to the highest possible standards. While I antcipated the rooms could be old world, meaning out of date, these (the superior sea view) were large, bright, tasteful and modern. A huge bathroom, with the luxury of a separate shower, as well as a walk in wardrobe that could fit most Paris hotel rooms. Service was discrete, friendly and to a high standard, as was the food and drinks. Views from the rooms, garden and near the sea down on pool deck were fantastic. Do not miss the walks around the local area. A wonderful stay and worth the room charge.

Room Tip: Sea view superior

Very nice location, nice hotel, nice staff.

How they can justify the price per room astonishes me. Basic rooms, clean but very basic. Never one to refer to prices because if you cannot afford it, don't go there. But this is way over the top.

Despite it be Cannes and pre Grand Prix, very quiet place.

Nice pool and great poolside restaurant, excellent service there.

Spa nice but not great.

Le Cap see separate review.

An experience but not to be repeated, far better places out there.

Having stayed regularly over the 21 years, nothing could be more exciting than arriving and rushing out onto the wonderful terrace, the air the view totally captivating Takes your breath away.
The staff are all wonderful and tremendously courteous, nothing is too much to ask, Christophe Prosper glides around the wonderful Le Cap, ensuring each guest has every whim catered for.
Unlike other Maitre D's, he is mid thirties, fun and very very competant, good staff leader, with a ready wit to make you laugh.
Wish to name all but the list would be so long, if you have a spare cache of Money ,spend it before you die at this hotel, you will never forget your trip, come home broke, but who cares!

Room Tip: all rooms are wonderful

Amazing building on the hill, great garden around, about 10 minutes walk to the sea. Extremely expensive for everything: club sandwich, that could be better 40+ euro. Once we accidently had a lunch for 4 people and payed about 5k euro, because waiter didn't mention the price of the champaign that he advised - but may be it is our fault, we didn't ask.. actually it would be fine for some amazing experience. But there wasn't any. Just good food pretending to be "wow".
Also sometimes you can see different people arriving with many security who will stand next to your door all night long. Which is quite weird and uncomfortable.
Probably, place for the richest people in the world, and if you are not a Prince or smth like that, you will not impress the staff enough to provide full 5 star hospitality.

Room Tip: some rooms are difficult to find on the upper floor. Pool villa is stunning

We had lunch and used the swimming pool. The hotel is one of the most spectacular in this part of the world with splendid views and gardens. The swimming pool is huge and panoramic. We found the staff very noisy and almost arrogant both around the pool and at the pool restaurant. Elsewhere in the hotel, staff was very nice, smiling and courteous, as you would expect. Food was ok.

We stayed with our whole family just after new year. Everything was simply perfect even the weather, the children were swimming in the sea and we were able to walk around in shirt sleeves!
The rooms were incredibly comfortable and the service was charming.
The management must be incredibly proud of their wonderful staff and beautiful hotel.
