“Amazing small hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

Rooms with breathtaking views and a very pleasant restaurant with perfectly cooked fish. The flambéd peaches are worth the stay.
Very pleasant owners and a comfortable bed, free wifi and a perfect (huge) breakfast taken on the balcony or in your room on your own balcony all make this a gem of a place. Parking outside the hotel if you get there early.
We will definitely stay again.

Stayed at the hotel in July as part of a holiday to the Cote d'azur.
The hotel itself is comfortable and clean and the rooms and bathrooms are a good size. The restaurant area has a wonderful balcony overlooking the sea which is stunning for breakfasts. I would say that the hotel has probably seen better days, although it does have a certain antique charm about the place. The owners are very friendly and helped us find a restaurant to eat when we arrived late on the first night and were avalible to help throughout the stay.
Pricewise it is fairly expensive, particularly breakfast, but then so is the whole of the south coast. Hotel is probably not ideal for young families or those with mobility issues as there are lot of narrow staircases. Roquebrune town is very quiet in terms of bars and restaurants but it's only 20mins to walk to Monaco or there is a bus stop right outside.

We stayed in this hotel as part of our tour of the French Riviera and loved every minute spent in it. Our room had a private balcony with the most breathtaking views. The decor in the room was old fashioned (not outdated!), a mixture of antique furniture with a modern shower and bathroom. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and pillows.

There isnt much to see in this village, so we spent our days at the beach, hotel is a 10 minutes walk there. The hotel owners provided us with beach towels and umbrellas. The bus to Monaco stops closeby, we went their for dinner one evening. On another evening we walked to the village centre (its a steep 25 mins walk) and enjoyed a lovely dinner at La Roqueburnois (highly recommend).

The owners are the loveliest people...They were eager to help, give advise and make us feel comfortable. E.g, we arrived by train to Roquebrune. Its a murderous walk (with suitcases) to the hotel and so on our departure Patricia kindly drove us to the train station.

After reading reviews on this hotel, including looking at pictures, we could no wait to visit. I feel bad to write the following, because I am not a very critical person - but staying at other hotels in this area as well (and comparing all of them) - hotel le Roquebrune was a big disappointment for us (and also the most expensive - since we opted to rather stay in the "suite). Definitely not worth the prize. Some feedback, we want to share:
Pictures, misleading - you do not have your "own" balcony - you share this with other "dining" - only separated by a wooden framework. Furniture dated; ants in bathroom - rooms, not soundproof - looks like "white cardboard" installed to separate rooms on the entrance floor. No ammenities in room, no mini-bar, coffee facilities etc (perhaps a way to force you to buy this at a very expensive prize at the hotel). I feel bad to write this because the owners are really friendly, but definitely not worth the price you pay. We stayed at the Vista Palace hotel and other hotels in Nice and St Tropez - Le Roquebrune does not compare very well to these hotels and I would rather say it is a "guesthouse in need for urgent upgrade" - to align with the price you pay. Positive, very nice view of bay and "beach" from balcony - but pathway and stairs to beach, not 5 min but rather 20 minutes and very challenging. Definitely not for the elderly or people with physical challenges. Without a car you are stuck, since their are not restaurants or shops close by. If you decide to visit be aware of this and opt to rent a cheaper room, think that will perhaps be better value for you money - and also a car. Not a hotel I will recommend - but this is our personal viewpoint based on our comparison with other hotels we stayed in during our stay (all situated in this region)

Regards
A & F

Room Tip: No comment, besides, paying more to stay in the suite (which we did), not worth the money you pay.

Family driven hotel and restaurant. The best service you can imagine. Speak well english. Be aware of the additionel cost on some beverages and food fx juice and eggs for breakfast are not included in the standard breakfast.

I have been going to Monte Carlo for a conference every year since 2005 and usually stay in one of the big 5* hotels on the seafront, but this year everywhere was fully booked so we ended up staying at Le Roquebrune. When we first walked in I thought it was a little antiquated and nothing like the standard of hotels we usually stay in - however by the time I left I had completely changed my mind and found this to be one of the nicest and most enjoyable places I have ever stayed in during my business trips to Monaco. The woman who runs it along with her sister is one of the sweetest and most helpful hotel owners I have ever encountered and the family history of this quaint little hotel gives it character and charm. On arrival she asked us if we wanted to eat and told us what she could make for us rather than offering us menus which I really enjoyed. The food was delicious, homemade and unpretentious and the service was impeccable. Our rooms were clean and spacious and each had a little balcony nestled into the cliff side, overlooking the bay with stunning views. It was the kind of place I would love to just sit with a book and relax for a couple of days. The owner could not have been more accommodating and charming and her stories of the days when her father and mother ran Le Roquebrune as a restaurant were lovely to hear. She clearly took real pride in the place and in offering her guests the best service possible - something that often gets lost at some of the larger and more pretentious hotels I have stayed in in this region. She also told us where we could get a bus back to the airport (saving us the 100 euro cab ride we paid to get there!) For just 1 Euro we travelled all the way along the coast to Nice taking in the stunning views of the French Riviera. This is something I have never done and made the end of what was a fly in fly out business trip highly enjoyable. Next time I go I would book this as a first choice rather than as somewhere I chose simply because I could not find anything else. I could not recommend it more.

This small hotel is really worth a visit.
So nice and clean, no noise and ok prices.
They will do anything to help you and breakfast is lovely.
We will be back for sure, it is a nice place to stay, if you want to visit Monaco and with teenagers.
Always free cold water with ice, when we returned from trips arround.
