“In the heart of Old Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

Very decent restaurant, insanely large servings. Had the mini canneloni which was filled with cheese and it was very good, although others found the Gnocchi on the sweet side. Dinner for 6 came to about $300 CDN with wine and cocktails. This is situated in the market area...and for added entertainment the place was jammed with people watching France play Switzerland during FIFA World Cup.

“Huge Plates!!!! Great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014

We stumbled across Cours Saleya as we were wondering around and were spoilt for choices of where to eat... until we saw the waiters bringing out the food from this place. OMG! The plates are the size of salad bowls, literally - HUGE! so we decided to eat here. You have to order the Antipasto to start with, it's a must!! they actually have all the food for the antipasto layed out inside the restaurant so you can see them make it up for you and it's all fresh! You get this rectangle platter with a selection of everything you would find on an antipasto plate; meats, fish, veg, salad, cheese etc... Then mains - I had the Pasta Marinara and my fiancé had the pasta with meatballs - both lovely dishes packed with flavour and you get loads! If you have room try the desserts too they are divine - but again HUGE!! Great location too in the busy strip and all the staff are super friendly and helpful with the menu if you don't understand Italian/French.

“Generous servings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

Walked past this place around lunchtime and after peeking at other diners dishes decided to stop for a bite. The pizza was great, traditional with minimal toppings and quality base/sauce. We had 1 pizza and 1 pasta to share between two and didn't finish, the servings are very generous and around 10-15 euro per dish.
The staff were fast so all in all a good place for a quick lunch, without compromising quality.

“Worth a try”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

Beautiful terrace (disadvantage: many smokers) on the Cours Saleya (Marché aux Fleurs), correct waiter attitude, efficient service, delicious plat du jour for 16 euros. Where the locals seem to go. And some tourists like us.

“Italian Fast Food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

Although I promised myself never to write a bad review, here it is. La Favola, like its sister restaurant La Voglia, serve huge plates on the busy Cours Saleya in the old town. The quality of the food is average, there are no memorable flavours. The waiters do not even know the dishes, which sauce a pasta is served with. The place is crowded and not recommended if you are seeking slow food athmosphere, dim lights or even a romantic setting. The positive thing for some people might be that you get a lot of food for a good price. I will try my best to avoid this place in the future.
