“Superb !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

Superb day out for those seeking something different to the beaches of Nice. An early start is preferable as this allows time for 2 or 3 stops. The train itself is a delight for railway fans, and the scenery is excellent and ever changing.

“Wasn't prepared to stand for the entire trip back”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

A group of three of us decided to take the train to Entrevaux. The ride there was comfortable and nice aboard one of their newer-model trains. The ride back was terrible - a cramped, small car where two of us were forced to stand the entire way back to Nice. It was a rougher ride as it was an older train.

I highly recommend visiting Entrevaux as it is charming and scenic, but I am not sure I would recommend this train.

“A fantastic trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

This railway was built in 1910 to serve the inner regions of Provence. Nowadays, it is a popular tourist event. The train starts from a station behind the railway station, so you have to check the map first! The journey to Digne takes several hours, so it is advisable to make one or two stops. The medieval town of Entrevaux is perhaps the best choice: it is like entering a fairy tale. Please note that you can not leave the luggage at the stations, so you have to carry it with you.

“Nice day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

As mentioned elsewhere the station is easy to over look but is a few mins walk from Liberation tram stop look out for Alfred Binet street sign.
We took a new train to Entrevaux and it was a pleasant hour and so ride into the mountains around Nice.
The town of Entrevaux itself was worth the trip although the walk up to the citadel is pretty heavy going! The town and surrounds were lovely.
Train back was an older train packed with locals but all in all a good day out.

“Unexpected delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

The train only runs four times a day, as we were traveling with young children, we decided that we would not travel the entire stretch. The train station is within walking distance from the liberation tram stop. It's a very plain building that is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it.

As mentioned by the previous reviews, the train itself was small. When we took it in early December, it consisted of only one carriage.

We took the 0922 train and made our way up to entreveux. A walled town about midway. After the initial few stops, the scenery was magical. There was a part where all the landscape was blanketed in a layer of frost and it was simply magical as the train drove through.

Entreveux itself was nice to walk through but we didn't manage to climb up the citadel.

We then took the 1238 back to Nice.
