Description: Wonderfully fresh local ingredients used at this "bistro du marche". We enjoyed delicious ravioles de royan in a tomato basil broth, followed by the day's special of mixed seafood a la plancha. Everything was prepared to order by the chef/owner, while his wife graciously looked after the front of house. This is a wonderful find in Nice, where there are so many mediocre restaurants.

“Much more than your average find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

After having a disappointing first meal in one of the many touristy restaurants Nice has on offer we decided to use trip advisor to find a more authentic dining experience. We decided on Le 7eme Sens as it previous reviews had been only excellent and I must say they are not wrong. This place is a true gem with fast, friendly and efficient service topped of with a warm ambience. I had the fillet of steak with dauphinoise potatoes and a sauce to die for. The whole meal was top notch up to and including the string beans and steak (coming from a vegetable inclined eater).

If you are in the Nice vicinity I highly recommend seeking out this little beauty.

“Wonderful cozy place with great food - a hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

I just had one of the best dinners of my traveling career. This is a warm, cozy, interesting place with a well-rounded but limited menu. Everything is cooked to order. I had a fantastic starter salad topped with goat cheese in a crispy, still-warm phyllo crust. Followed that with a lamb shank braised in a deep, rich sauce complimented by haricots verts and slices of tiny crispy potatoes, roasted to perfection. The owner recommended a wonderful red wine (medoc). A decaf espresso (not easy to find!) was the perfect ending for me. This restaurant is well-located, very near the conference center and right off the main drag. The price is extremely reasonable.

“Hidden gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

We stumbled across this little restaurant (around 20 couverts) on a Saturday evening when everything else in the area next to the Nice Old Town was either fully reserved or very expensive. The astonishing thing about this place is that the chef does everything single handedly.
The set-up is a fixed price for starter/main/dessert in any combination. There were 5 starters and 7 mains. We had a starter & main and our plates were impeccably clean (when finished of course).
A very good alternative for the more touristy Old Town.

“delicious food, great experience - do not miss this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

I would like to start off by saying that everything about this restaurant was charming from the signs on the exterior to the decor even the bathroom! The music was ambient and not French yet it still somehow added to the entire tasting experience!

The restaurant we were initially interested in was closed for the afternoon, a local sales associate suggested a little restaurant in Nice and she had called to make sure they were open. They were actually supposed to be closing to prepare for dinner later but the chef decided to remain open for us, albeit on a very slow and rainy day. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the chef who I believe was the owner, was also our server. The service was great.

The wine was delicious, the menu options were tantalizing. The price was very reasonable as well, we opted for 3 courses for 32 Euros and were very impressed by the wide selection of local wines. To start we were provided with delicious olives (not just the typical kind) seasoned with some herbs and fresh warm bread. Our appetizer included sautéed mushrooms (all types!) and foie gras, followed by pan fried scallops with caramel and orange sauce, duck with vegetables and finally crème brulee and profiteroles. This was without a doubt our most memorable meal in Nice. We had actually gone to a few of the "top" restaurants, and none left an impression on us like this one.

When travelling to Nice one likes to try to some real French food, amongst all the Italian (still tasty) options - this place should definitely not be missed.
