“First shock then relief”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013 via mobile

The first room was depressing and smelt heavily like cigarettes. We changed the room, however, it was also depressing with old sheets and towels. The light of the hotel sign kept us awake and early in the morning - as expected - the breakfast activities stopped our sleep. The breakfast was prepared without love. We were depressed. However, the staff was very very friendly and helpful all the time. We changed agsin to another floor and this room was mjch better and fitted with the other tripadvisor evaluations. We stayed a week and enjoyed it. In conclusion: very nice staff - and a good place to stay but definitely avoid the rooms of the lowest category (just 10€ less than the other rooms).

We had a room on the first floor, next to the breakfast room, so we were woken up at 5:50 in the morning. We were really thinking about changing the hotel because it's not a vacation when you have to wake up so early.
But the staff was really nice with us and found another room on the 3 floor.
It's not a luxury hotel but it is in the centrum of Nice and 5 minutes from the beautiful see.

I stayed for one night. The hotel is a five minute walk from place massena, where We got off the 98 bus from the airport. We arrived a little earlier than expected, and was asked if we wanted a room with a bath or a shower, good size room at the front with a balcony. staff couldn't do enough for us, very helpful. Free wifi at a good speed was a great help. Breakfast was very tasty. First visit to Nice, so not stayed anywhere else before but u would be happy to stay here again. 30 seconds to tram stop. 10 mins walk to train station. a few good restaurants within walking distance, and also lots and lots of shops close by.

First, the only reason I give the room a 3 is because it was small for 2 adults but very doable. The size wasn't a big deal as most European rooms are smaller than US standards. Our friend had the room next door and it was much larger so it might be the luck if the draw in terms of size.
The staff were very friendly, the location was prime (only a block from the main shopping street and tram stop) and a 5-10 minute walk to the old town and beach. Sadly the Christmas market was just getting set up so we missed it, but the city is just fabulous and a nice escape from the cold north.
We didn't take advantage of the buffet breakfast but if I remember correctly it was something like 6euro which isn't bad compared to sitting at a cafe.
Overall, a great experience and would definitely recommend it for a value & convenient stay in Nice.

Very good hotel, close to city center, old city, beach, shopping area, Massen Platz, railway station. Excellent hotel with so friendly, kind and helpful staff. Reception 24 hours on site. Free wi-fi at all hotel and free computer on 1st floor, comfortable and clean rooms, cofee-machine in the lobby. I would like to say many thanks to all staff of hotel!!!

Room Tip: I think that there are all rooms are perfect:)

The hotel is about a 15min walk from Nice Ville train station and is located in a great area of Nice - close to the city centre and to the beach. However, you get what you pay for at a budget hotel. I found the staff not very friendly and the hotel run-down.

Cons
-Wi-fi is included but barely worked.
-Rooms were old and dirty. Room smelt musty and need of some TLC
-Breakfast was not that good.
-Mold in the bathroom and the taps kept running.
-Lift was unbelievably small and felt like it could breakdown at any second.

Pros
-the price is great (but you get what you pay for)
-the location cant be beat.

Fab location only a few mins walk from the old town. On arrival the receptionist was very helpful and recommended a few places to visit nearby as well as providing us with a map which was much appreciated.
Also walking distance to nice ville train station (or a tram stop if you are feeling less energetic!) Beach nearby as well. All in all a good budget hotel in a good spot for exploring Nice
