“A reasonable compromise if you need parking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2015

Only a handful of hotels and motels offer parking in Nice, and this one was the only one we could found that was both located reasonable close to the promenade, AND wasn't expensive.

The room was tiny - barely enough room for ourselves and our suitcases. The bed was narrow, and when we offered to pay more for another room with a broader bed, the person at the desk admitted that all the beds in the hotel were at the same size. Both of the windows were overlooking a construction site.

All in all, it's a functional budget choice for those travelling with a car. If you don't have a car, there are probably better budget options.

A walk away from the action but a nice hotel. pool was well kept and the rooms were ok. used it as a base so didnt spend much time there. but staff friendly enough. Some good local restaurants but felt a bit out of the way.

This hotel is exactly what I was expecting and more! Hotel Armenonville is just off a quiet street close to the seafront and about 15 minutes walk along the spectacular Promenade des Anglais to the bustling old town with all its restaurants and flower market. I arrived by train and it was 15 minutes walk from the main station (Nice Ville) to the hotel.

The hotel has all the advantages of being privately owned with smiley, friendly, attentive staff on hand all the time. It is a lovely old building with a spacious, elegant marble staircase. There is a small and very pretty outside swimming pool surrounded by lemon trees etc. Breakfast can be served on the terrace where there are plenty of seats and sunloungers. A brisk walk down to the (stony) beach and you can swim in the Med. If you are travelling by car, there is room to park.

If I hadn't been so keen on seeing all the local sites, such as the Musee Matisse and Matisse's chapel at Vence, I could imagine spending a day reading a good book in the garden at Hotel Armenonville and never venturing further except to local restaurants.

Our second floor room had a lovely view of the garden and pool. At least one of the first floor rooms has a balcony. Prospective guests must bear in mind that this is a small hotel and our room was quite small and modest and perhaps the shower is due for an update and (being from the UK) I would have loved a kettle! But on the plus side, everything worked, hot water all the time, hair dryer, and clean and comfortable beds with nice cotton sheets. However, if you are looking for that large impersonal hotel with a lot of facilities, bog-standard furniture, and a huge bathroom, you could be disappointed - I certainly wasn't!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a garden view!

Chose this hotel for a weeks stay from previous reviews and was as expected. Pool area lovely. staff very helpful.
+ short walk to Promenade des Anglais, plenty Brasseries and boulangerie near by for breakfast etc. short walk and buses to railway station if touring. no 3 bus from stop nearby takes you into Nice centre..couple of museums nearby
-Description for quad room at Booking.com should read 1 double and sofa bed, not 2 doubles/4singles. would not have booked it if known this. also book through hotel as paid 4 person rate for 3 people..Initially offered room with double and small pull out bed for 29year old disabled son but changed immediately when queried

Room Tip: would recommend for couples happy to do a bit of walking and go for one of suites with terrace

Not sure about other rooms but our experience was very average.
The room was very small and the view even worse. From outside villa looks very nice though and service very pleasant. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place to other travellers.

Room Tip: Free wifi was actually quite poor in the room. Room number 10 is not recommended

Wonderful little hotel with absolutely excellent pool area. Great location, 10 minutes walk to Promenade des Anglais and beach, only 20 min walk to Vieux Nice.
Hotel Armenonville is small, family owned oasis of sun and relaxation. We stayed with our children and just loved the atmosphere. Beautiful room, wiev to garden and pool was nice with good air conditioning. Madame at reception is very lovely and ready to help with anything. Hotel Armenonville serviced the best coffee in Nice!
We can truly recommend hotel Armenonville, it is worth a visit. We will definately visit them again.

Room Tip: If you look place for romantic getaway, pls book room 6, with fireplace and balcony it creates perfe...

My family and I stayed for four nights in August 2014. The hotel was perfect for us. It was a short walk to the beach and the city with many restaurants. The owners and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very well presented and was kept very clean by the staff. The pool and patio was immaculately clean. I would definitely recommend the Armenonville hotel.

Room Tip: Garden view room was great
