“Fabulous neighborhood find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

This delightful new restaurant, just a few blocks from the "promenade" was recommended by the owners of our rental apartment. The people running the place are warm, welcoming and even provided a free espresso when I stopped to reserve. It is very appealing with a "music" motif. The cuisine is very Nicoise with many creative "notes". The menu is very affordable and delicious!
This is a place with more local diners and a few lucky tourists who have found it.
It is a MUST for a return visit.
Highly recommended!!

“Still a great eatery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We revisited Melodynice twice during a week long stay in September and the place is still as good, though getting busier so next trip reservations may be necessary. The charming maitre d' - who is also waiter, barman and manager (a very busy fellow) - is unflappable even on a night where he had a table of 12 and a table of 8 to serve as well as several others including ourselves. He didnt fade even when a young couple arrived at 11pm (!) and the chef said he would cook for them. The menu was the same as before - the only criticism i would make is that they might try offering a daily special but the food - fish, duck, beef, and the best tiramisu in the known world - is still superb. Bravo!

“Brilliant service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

The food was very good and the service from the waiter was excellent. The attention from the waiter was on the level you'd expect from a waiter on a michelin star restaurant. Made us feel very welcome and was always there when we needed something.

“A Gem you need to discover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

After a very long train trip from Pisa to Nice, we arrived at our hotel very late. We were staying at the very budget Hotel Dante on Rue Andrioli and were resigned to having maybe not getting dinner as the area around the hotel seemed pretty shutdown. As we walked toward Rue Dante we noticed some welcoming lights on the corner. When we got there we looked in the windows and were surprised to see a very chic but inviting looking restaurant. In fact it looked like it might be to good for us, as we looked pretty bedraggled from our journey. After a quick search around the area we realized this was it and we better get in quick as it was almost 11pm.
There were a couple of large groups taking up half the room, but the host put us just far enough away not to be disturbed, but definitely not in the "corner".
From that moment on we had one of the best restaurant experiences ever! Our host welcomed us warmly and answered our questions patiently. Even though he had two huge parties to take care of he was very attentive to us and service was efficient and unrushed. I ordered a steak and my wife ordered ravioli with crayfish. Before our meals arrived we were given a complimentary serving of a delicious melon soup.
My steak was perfectly cooked with a sauce so devine that I soaked all my fried potatoes in it to make sure nothing was wasted. My wife's ravioli was superb, with a very nice seafood broth. We felt so comfortable that we stayed for dessert and tea and lingered for a long while. When we told our host that our daughter had stayed back at the hotel because she had a cold, he had the chef make up a takeout order for her.
The other parties were French and I'm guessing this is a locals place as it isn't on the main tourist drag. My advice, find it, its worth it. Its just a couple of street up from the promenade. If you're looking for excellent food and awesome French hospitality, this is the place.

“Highlight of our stay in Nice”

Melody is a great restaurant. We enjoyed the delicious meal, the variety of the menu, and the attentive and professional service. The live music made this a special place to dine.
