When we arrived at Nice we asked our taxi driver about the hotel and he said one thing - this was the best 3 star hotel in Nice and he wasn't wrong. We stayed at this hotel earlier this month with our children and found the hotel very welcoming and at a great location. Our room was on the first floor looking out over the sea. Some reports have said that the road outside is noisy, but we were on the first floor and this was not a problem. We had complimentary breakfast, which was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great hotel for the harbour and the promenade, maybe a little treck to the centre, but the promenade and harbour are Nice's best parts. Overall great 3 star hotel.

The rooms are nice, especially loved the floor to ceiling windows, however, they are not double gazed and the traffic at night time is horrendous, as it is one of the major routes on the coast! I did not sleep the weekend that I stayed there! So if you love sleeping and arent deaf - AVOID!!!

Also, I experienced food poisoning from the breakfast - within half a hour of eating the temping fruit salad, my stomach was a gonner. When I complained to reception, he said that he avoids the fruit salad! He wasn't in the least bit surprised, so it might happen quite a lot. He did not apologise or check to see if i was ok. The staff proved to be stuck up and do not seem to relate well to people. Though I noticed on the bill, that they wavered the charge for breakfast.

We had stayed in this hotel about 5 years ago, and it was really quite shabby and needed a revamp. We booked here again having read the very positive reviews and we most certainly were not disappointed. The hotel was wonderfully refurbished, the rooms were clean, modern and not cluttered, the views were fantastic, and the hotel staff very helpful but unobtrusive. We travelled with our 7 month old and the staff were very helpful, warming milk when we needed it. The location of the hotel is also excellent - just two minutes from the market and the old town. When we return to Nice, we'll stay here again most certainly, and the room price was also very reasonable indeed.

Picked Hotel Suisse from comments on Tripadvisor forum. Not disappointed. A weekend early December - we just missed a storm and the weather was beautiful. Got 5th floor rooms with fabulous views of bay and city. Only the sound of the waves came through the glass doors although the traffic was busy below. Chose superior room which has view and small balcony. Rack rate 110/120 euros. We paid 91. Traditional room has view but no balcony. Most expensive rooms have larger balcony. As far as we could figure out, the only rooms without view are some singles at the back. These might be good value even so as the location is great - 5 minutes into old town restaurants and shops. Breakfast in the market is perfect.
Rooms clean and elegant although small. Staff lovely.
