I was ambling round the neighbourhood looking for somewhere to eat near the hotel and stopped here. I had not read anything about it before. It turns out that the chef is genuinely trying to recreate some of the more classic dishes of the south of France. I puzzled over the 'petit farcis' which the waiter duly brought out to show me. In a dish with clingfilm they looked cooked and ready to be stuck in the microwave which was not a great introduction. Nevertheless I chose them and they were really good. The beignets of courgette flowers that I had for a starter were also excellent although very expensive. A creme caramel for dessert was also good. The waiter was friendly and tried to chat to me despite my poor French. A French couple and another French family were glowing in praise to the water for the dishes they had. Sitting outside was nice (because it was really hot) but its not the most attractive street. So not the best meal I have ever had but a brave effort
