“Excellent Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

Not sure what more I can add given previous reviews but we had a triple room (that was all that were left) for approx £80 per night. It was huge, had a lovely balcony with good views of the mountain. It was room 501 closest to the lift, quiet and comfortable; just perfect. The hotel was fully booked for the whole weekend that we were there but it didnt feel at all crowded. We saw a few french people were staying too, so we felt in the "know" as it were. Loved the Supermarche, which we walked past every morning on our way to the tram stop, which was also great for stocking up before you head back to the airport!

Getting to and from the Airport: Pretty much pain free and cheap. We got the last 98 bus (leaves at 00h00), from the closest stand to the exit (No.1 I think?). Bought a ticket on the bus as the ticket office was closed. The € 4.00-ticket you buy on the bus is a one day ticket, which you can also use for the tramway.

Got off at the "Bus station" stop, we asked the driver to let us know which stop to get off, to get a tram and he was lovely enough to do this. Literally just crossed the road to the tram stop, its well signedposted. The tram only goes in two directions you want the direction of “Pont Michel”. You get off at the tram stop called “Virgile Barel”. Cross over the road to the other platform and then if you face the direction the tram was going you want to take the first left hand turn off that road (there should be a shop on your side of the road and a pharmacy across the road. Walk straight for 2 minutes’ (crossing over 1 road) when you get to the end there is a roundabout and a petrol station, turn left and you are at the hotel. Voila!

pros: Really large light and airy triple room, large bathroom, good safe, free wifi, air con was good, balcony with an excellent view considering it's location. My special request on my booking with "Booking.com" was taken into account by the hotel. I emailed ahead of our stay for directions and I got immediate responses to all my questions. Staff are really helpful. You can choose whether you have the breakfast at 8 Euros, we chose not as we wanted to try the many boulangeries so we were glad this was not built into the room price and optional.

Very Minor niggles: No shower curtain/divide however the bathroom is quite large so its not a huge problem, the floor by the sink will remain dry. We had a late flight and they dont have a dedicated area you can shower/ freshen up after you have checked out and I guess as it was full there were no rooms to spare. However the receptionist was lovely and let us use what must have been the staff shower room so it worked out for us. There are also no computers available but again when I really needed one the receptionist let me use the reception computer so it just shows how much the staff really make this place!!

Would definitely stay here again unless I'm feeling super plush and can afford one of the fancy and very expensive hotels on the beach front!

Room Tip: 501 (triple)is on the top floor, great view from balcony and nearest to the lift. It alsio beneftis...

We stayed overnight. The hotel is new, clean and very well organized. The staff was more than helpful. There is a secure parking at the basement. The Hotel is situated near the train station but there are nearby tram stations that can take you to the Old City and around Nice in general. The Wi-Fi had a good reception and speed, but you needed to relog-in quite often. The breakfast was served in a nice semi-outdoor environment, but the options were rather few.

We chose this hotel based on reviews on Tripadvisor and they were not very far off target!

Location-wise, the hotel is not near the promenade. It is further up north. However, the hotel is just 2 streets away from a tram station which, for 1 euro, you can take the train down to the centre. Also, there is a supermarket just behind the hotel where you can stack up on snacks and drinks.

Nothing much on amenities in the hotel. Ok, it has breakfast but it costs 8 Euros extra. The spread is just average. You have got your coffee, your croissants and your oat meals. Underground parking is available for 8 Euros a day as well. It helps to just drop the car there and make use of the public transportation.

Room is very clean. Nothing much to comment on it, but, being a new hotel, things seem to be spotless. The bath tub is big but without any draw curtains you can get the toilet floor wet pretty easily.

For the price you pay, which is something like 70 Euros a night, without the breakfast or parking included, this is a pretty good option to consider.

The hotel is new, very clean, spacy rooms, great balcony where we spent the evenings) The service is very good - though not all people at the reception understood English - they tried their best to help. The price for the room is unbeatable, I guess. The hotel is 5 minutes from Garibaldi square if you take the tram. Very easy and comfortable. Besides, practically behind the corner you can find a VERYgood supermarket - Intermarche - very good prices (practically the best in the town). We had room 507, it's on the last floor and it had excellent view on the hills. So if i'm in Nice one more time, i will definitely come only here.

We stayed here in August 2012 having been in Provence for a few days.

Pros: The hotel is in a good location, out of the centre, but just a short walk away from the tram, which is cheap and frequent. You can also walk quite safely into the old town in abut 25-30 minutes, as we did at night. Everything was clean and modern, and the reception / bar staff were friendly and helpful. The car park was easy to use and reasonable at 8 euros a day. Rooms are large and well furnished, with a good shower, and a useful balcony. The beds were comfortable.

Cons: The air-conditioning was not as powerful as it could be, leaving us quite hot in the room. There were no non-French language channels on the TV despite being advertised as 'international'. Breakfast was fine, a reasonable selection of pastries and bread, but was 8 euros, not 6 euros as advertised. We came back one day to find the maids sat in our room chatting, with the TV on, and they forgot to leave us any cups to use.

So all in all it was quite a good hotel, but there were a few things not quite so good that we weren't expecting, given the other reviews on here.

Esatitude Hotel is a small, clean and quiet hotel outside the heat of the center. Still it's very easy to get there by tram. The nearest stop is a 200m away and there's a big super market between the hotel and tram stop, so you can buy cheap snack and drinks every morning before going to the beach.
The hotel is quite new and everything inside looks like it. The room was nice with air conditioning, a balcony, new tv... there were enough towels and free shampoos etc. The breakfast was good and staff very friendly, you can eat outside on terrace.
Only bad thing was it was forbidden to eat inside the room. You can also buy cold soft drinks any time from the machine on the 1st floor.

We stayed three nights in Nice. This hotel was chosen based on other reviews and it was an excellent choice. We stayed in a triple because it was all that was available the dates we were staying, but it wasn't that much more expensive and the room was huge. Very clean. Very modern. A good breakfast in the morning. Very convenient location as it was only a three minute walk to the tram stop. A very helpful and friendly staff. A good hotel at good price.
