“Friendly staff, great for price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2007

We thought this hotel was great considering how expensive Nice hotels can be in the summer. The hotel was a great distance between the train station and the beach. The hotel was clean and confortable and our room was quite large by European standards. There wasn't air conditioning, however there was a fan and we just kept the balcony doors cracked and it was quite pleasant, even in August! Also, if you ask the staff they will give you beach mats and beach towels for free to use during your stay. You also have free access to the internet. The biggest plus was the hotel staff which was so helpful and pleasant. I highly recommend this hotel. I'm sure there are other nice hotels in Nice, but this one is a sure thing.

The Touring Hotel is the nicest I stayed in while in Europe. We were there in early July for 3 nights. The location is great, about 10 minutes walk to the train station and to the beach. Our room was big compared to other places I've stayed, with its own bathroom that even had a bathtub (although, it was a sitting tub... no room to lie down). No air conditioning, but opening the doors to the balcony kept us comfortable for sleeping. Daily maid service. The best part of this place is its staff. They are so friendly and very accommodating. Check-out was 11:00am, but they let us store our bags for the day and we picked them up at about midnight, since our plane was departing in the wee hours of the next morning. The lobby has free internet access, a comfy couch, a TV, and some travel books to browse through. We didn't try breakfast, since there is an additional charge of 6 euros per person. Overall, a wonderful experience at the Touring Hotel.

I stayed there with my wife and two friends in late November. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again. Rooms were clean and, for the price, spacious. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, directing us to wonderful restaurants we would not have found otherwise. Maybe it's different in the summer, but we thought the Touring Hotel was a fabulous bargain.

The Touring Hotel is excellently located, close to the town centre but on a fairly quiet side street. Everything within the city is within walking distance and you will quickly learn your way about. The hotel is small, basic and clean. The rooms where very clean, but small. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom fairly spacious and there was also a small balcony to have a fly smoke on.
The staff where very friendly and extremely helpfull, with directions and advice. They all spoke reasonable English and would take there time to ensure a puzzled traveller understood the instructions given.
We had a couple of complaints, on the website we had been told breakfast was included in the price, however this was denied when we got there and even when I showed them the web page they still wanted extra for the breakfast! On the website they also claimed to have a stocked bar, which simply isn't true. However these where only minor problems, there is a Cafe at the end of the street selling 5 euro breakfasts and you can buy a bottle of cheep booze in the shop around the corner.
This hotel is probably one of the only cheap and value for money things in a city as expensive as Nice.

We found this hotel on the internet, and although there weren't many reviews of it it seemed just like what we were after. We were in Nice at the beginning of January, and so there weren't huge numbers of people in the hotel. The staff were very warm, and veyr willing to help with anything. The majority of the staff spoke French, English and Italian. We had a double room, which was just perfect for my boyfriend and I; a double bed, closet, TV and a bathroom with a shower. Breakfast in the morning was extra to the cost of the room, but for 5 euro each we had croissants, baguette with conserves and hot drinks. On our last day, we caught the train in the evening, but we were able to leave our bags behind the front desk, with no security worries. For 50 euro a night for the double room, it was a great find.

We have just spent a very pleasant 5 nights in this hotel. The room was small but everything we needed was provided. We were grateful for the efficient heating as Nice was cold. The hotel was clean, there was plenty of hot water, bedding and towels were changed every day. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and spoke good English. The location was excellent, close to shops, station, transport and good restaurants.
