“a bottle of water away from 4 star hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Spent four nights, beautiful hotel, there is so little to do to bump it to a four star from three, (maybe bottled water and an iron in room would do it).
Hotel looks beautiful from outside, the lobby once you enter is very well decorated.
The staff was incredible, great English, I think her name is Amelie maybe or something like that, she was the nicest hotel employee I've ever met, very impressed with the three people that worked during those days.
hallway to rooms are beautiful, entered the room (#37) and it was a big wow, perfect size with extra bed and the view to that church across street was amazing, very comfortable beds, amazing bathroom, nice TV.
Location is great, 15 minute walk from Nice Ville train station, less than 10 minutes to the promenade, 15 to old Nice and in a very nice street and neighborhood.
Free wifi that worked very well.
Our stay could not have been better.

Room Tip: high room on the church side, amazing view.

Nice is a relatively expensive town to visit.
Taking that into account, we believe this hotel to give good value for the money.

Rooms are big enough, beds are good, staff speaks good English, including the cleaners. All very friendly.

The location is good - everything is within walking distance.

Wi-Fi worked quite well in our room, as did the computer (for clients) beside the lobby.

Decided a quick trip to Nice and Monte Carlo were in order to say goodbye to my 30s.

The location, quality of the rooms an the staff were great.

A welcome treat. We had so much fun. The staff made sure that despite our best efforts we made it to every lunch, beach, party and helicopter ride we'd booked.

Firstly, I want to mention that some of the traveller pictures posted do not reflect the reality of how this hotel actually is now since it has been refurbished in a very tasteful style.

We spent 5 nights here at the beginning of July. Our family room comprised a large king bed and two singles and plenty space between to move around. The bathroom was very spacious with a good shower.

Also plenty storage space in the wardrobe.

It is in a good location about 10 mins. stroll to the beach and plenty of restaurants, small supermarkets and shops in the vicinity.

Staff were generally helpful and friendly and spoke good English.

Internet was very good throughout our stay.

Negative points or things that would make the stay better ?
i) No toiletries holder provided in the shower - everything had to be placed on the floor.
ii) My wife complained the pillows were too high but they didn't bother me
iii) No fridge or tea or coffee facilities provided in the room
iv) No working English channels on the TV

The above are fairly minor points though and one bonus is that the top rated restaurant in Nice on Tripadvisor "Le Sejour Cafe" is just around the corner on Rue Grimaldi and shouldn't be missed.

Room Tip: We heard no street noise on the 5th floor on facing out on Rue Maccarani opposite the church.

My husband and I just returned from Nice. We stayed at the La Villa Nice Victor Hugo for a week. It was fabulously PERFECT! We both really enjoyed the breakfast (and for 12 Euro - it was perfect for us). Lots to choose from (yogurts, fruits, cereals, eggs, coffee, tea). Our room was spacious (we had an executive room). Very modern decor and very clean. We were on the 5th floor facing a busy street - and no noise issues at all! 5 minute walk to the beach. The internet work PERFECTLY. No issues at all. The hotel is staffed with very good people. We asked them to arrange a taxi to the airport at check out and the taxi arrived in perfect timing. We did not want to leave. Can't wait to go back and stay at La Villa Nice Victor Hugo!!!!

We stayed here in executive rooms for the Monaco F1 2014. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and spoke good english. Our room was spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. The train station was only a ten minute walk away. There were many restaurants a ten minute walk away and also the sea front. Breakfast was a continental style buffet which we found to be both fresh and tasty. My only dislike if this hotel was the plan of the shower which generally flooded the bathroom floor. Other than that a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

We chose this hotel as it was close to the train station as we were only there for the F1 in Monaco. Easy to find and an easy waalk from the station. The room was lovely and spacious as was the bathroom. No tea or coffee facilities which was a shame. The road noise was a bit much however and I ended up wearing ear plugs so get a room away from the street if you can. Worlds smallest elevator too so if you have a lot of luggage 2 trips may be called for. The staff were lovely and friendly, good restaurants and a little supermarket very close - try the 2 Palm restaurant 100 meters from the hotel - excellent food, great prices and the owner is a blast. All in all I really liked it apart from the street noise - they will change you if you ask. As far as I could tell it was also very close to the old town, just a tram ride but the surrounding streets are full of shops.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the street if you sleep lightly
